"Why not developing our own sounds as well, we Lebanese, Jordanian, Egyptians, Palestinians, Saudis, etc...? Why letting others "steel" our cultural heritage?" Marquis
I totally feel you on that bro.... but in my humble opinion its not easy as it sounds i guess, and here is a couple of reason on the top of my head:
1. Other than Lebanon, and Egypt to some extent, EDM culture in the Arab world is the definition of outcast to the society.
2. It requires sencere dedication, and without the appreciation , support of local fans, it might be quite discouraging after a while.
3. We simply might also lack the confidence! not only for EDM production, but for anything that is new to us.
4. Don't get enough support from local party promoters.
5. In the EDM business and music business in general, Talent and success are not always proportional to each other. Would u think AvB would be 1% of where he is for example if he was in a Saudi or Arab environment?
This is just off the top of my head.. i'm sure plenty of u can also come up with much better possible reasons for our lack of any kind of production talent.
