The topic subject wasnt long enought to let me put all the title of the track in ! Here it goes:
John Digweed and Nick Muir - Beautiful Strange (John Digweed and Nick Muir's Even Stranger Remix)
Something quite bizarre is happening with modern dance music. It seems the days of uplifting breakdowns and dancing with a blissful smile on your face are fading away, replaced by something much more terrifying.
Even the folks at Bedrock Records seem to be taking a turn into the darkest depths of sonic wizardry, and this remix from label head honcho, John Digweed (w/ Nick Muir as Bedrock), is a glimpse into dance music’s darkest realms.
And this is something we should all celebrate.
After all, with Halloween just a few weeks away, it’s time to ditch those records that make you want to hug your best friend and replace them with something direct from the darkest corner of the studio.
Bedrock Records might not be what you consider to be the purest leader when it comes to frightening underground music, but this track will have many techno snobs hiding in the corners, wishing they had stayed home and listened to the new Keane album instead.
Tucked inside the fantastic Bedrock 10 year anniversary release, ‘Beautiful Strange’ is easily one of the most macabre tracks you’ll hear this year.
It features a purely evil bassline which weaves in and out of some absolutely bizarre buzzing sounds, while a steady and simple kick drum keeps the track marching along.
The only beacon of hope amidst the shadows and creepy sounds are the faint, eerie vocals from the original, offering a small touch of humanity in a track otherwise controlled by demons.
It’s a simple track, using simple arrangement and sound. But even the best horror movies (Psycho comes to mind) were able to scare the living shit out of us without the use special effects.
This type of music can best be described as the soundtrack to hell’s largest and most popular nightclub (speaking only with the idea that hell’s nightclub is a place we all want to visit, of course).
Available now, just in time for the scariest holiday of the year, Diggers and Nick Muir have created the perfect witches brew for conjuring evil to the masses.
