Michel De Hey is back with a banger of a release that will surely be destroying dancefloors over the forthcoming weeks.
'Finally Man' is a typical De Hey groovy techno track. It kicks off on a well worked bassline and slowly builds up the funk factor. Smooth eclectic efx fade in from the back, while the bassline maintains a solid energy flow. Around the 1:15 mark eerie noises combine blissfully with the ongoing efx to add layers to the track. The track officially takes the dancers into taboo zone on the 2 minute mark when the bassline suddenly reverses and then bursts out into energy like a fight scene from a star wars movie! The track continues to build solid momentum with lovely random sounds. On the fourth minute mark the track gains even more energy, and to add to the frenzy a freakishly distorted church paino sound suddenly appears to quickly delay and compress the flow before its released again on 4:50 mark when the track picks the dancers from their frenzy and takes them into a totally new dimension. Rating: 9.2/10
'We're Fucking Hi' kicks off on a totally different vibe. A low kick combines with a small clap and random synths sounds that appear here and there. After 32 measures, weird whistling sounds fade in from the back that make you literarily look around you thinking someone is around you. The flow keeps building until the 2 minute mark when all hell is let loose. Enter De Hey's signature dark sound with the same synth foundation from the start and an exquisitely worked bassline, all the way around the 2:46 minute mark when some cool vocals, lovely conga sounds and out of this work dreamy pads continue to build. Suddenly on the 3.18 mark the track goes into chill mode before bursting into a charade of groovy sounds and amazingly crafted basslines. The track maintains the energy flow and the lovely dreamy pads with freaky synths that engulf the track and take you into a journey into the depth of your soul. On the 5:15 mark for around 10 seconds De Hey experiments with the strangest synths noise you can comprehend before bursting the track back into life and making you move uncontrollably. Rating: 9.6/10
What a wonderful release from the Dutch institution that is Michel De Hey who has been cracking dancefloors apart since 1986. Its no wonder that Satoshi Tomiie said: "Feeling both tunes, will play out for sure"! Grab these tracks while their hot!
