Blackberries do help out a lot when you're actually the type who sends out a lot of emails and needs to know about things on the minute.
As comparing the iPhone to an iMate or whatever else you might think is worthy competition. Let me provide my opinion on the matter since I've been trying to get a real glimpse of the thing since 2 yrs ago (and yes I own 3 Mac machines at home).
The finish on it is simply amazing.
Screen resolution as well as touch display with multiple fingers is WOW.
The way you're able to manage your photos is something I've never seen before.
Automatically changing from landscape to traditional view is a jaw dropper.
Confrence calling and merging calls together is amazing as well.
The management of your widgets, as well as your iTunes library runs smooth with great liquid animations between each option you select.
Sound quality. As Jobs said "our iPhone doesn't have feet, why would it have feet? Our speakers are where you need them most. At the top."
Full integration with your computer is amazing.
Able to view website in FULL, along with emails. Let me see your imate or any other handheld device really do that.
5hrs talk time.
2Megapixel camera which I believe should be able to take video and record it 4GB of space (min selection).
The one thing I don't wanna see is people buying this phone because it looks "cool." That's one thing that really bothers me, if you don't understand the functions that this can offer then stick to what you have please. Lebanon is messed up with phones. I have a Motorola L2 (got it in Canada for free and decided to keep it). It's got no camera and I'm made fun of cause of that. It's all about the "cool" factor with phones which makes me wanna slap some people at times.
Awesome phone, 3G will come out soon enough (people already speculating). It will be in test phase for Cingular network in the US for a year, if it looks good then it'll be released worldwide. GSM & open.
Anyway, will buy one. Will integrate well with everything. Will empty my pocket from my phone, PDA, and (at times) mp3 player.
And yes, I can support Mac systems all the way and write up more things about it than you will care to read. I have both systems at home and have used both my entire life. Windows will always be a step behind and the only thing that Windows has that OS X has yet to have is something to battle with MS Paint. hehe...there is no standard drawing program in OS X and I find that kind of funny.
BTW, recording music on the standarge Garage program is too easy and too freakin' cool not to do it.
Music is better than it sounds...
