Going back in time to a certain 1998 year...to the Eurodance era we find many huge releases that marked this year...the one that is still a reference to all ravers is of course Universal Nation by none else than Push or M.I.K.E...released by Bonzai in Belgium in 1998 this tune was a smash-hit throughout the continent that same year...

Bonzai...Bonzai...Bonzai...no matter how much we talk about this label it still wont be enough...legendary & huge...these are the words to describe it...you can always refer to the first classic of the week review for more info about Bonzai...

As for Push or M.I.K.E(real name: Dirk Dierickx) he is along side Airwave one of the biggest names signed by Bonzai and those two DJ's and producers collaborated with this label for quite a long time and produced unforgettable tracks...Push's style may have drifted a little bit more towards the house sounds but he remains a reference for all the electronic music listeners...

The track kicks off in a gentle way before the bass-line takes over...as the tracks evolves a smooth melody appears in the background to accompany the powerful bass...the breakdown is gorgeous and makes full use of the melody...this breakdown provides a launching ramp for the bass-line that suddenly erupts...as the track advances background elements give the track a certain power before the next breakdown...this breakdown makes once again full-use of the melody alongside some distorted male vocals...as the track gets closer to its end the original melody gains in intensity as well as the bass...the end of the track strikes quite as a resemblance with its beginning and is once again gorgeous...

A classic by all means. Universal Nation stands among the all-time Trance anthems that define the sound in its golden age, and Push is one of the few producers we may refer to as a "pioneer of the early Trance sound" without the shade of a doubt. Definitely, by far, without a 0.000001 second of hesitation, Universal Nation is always gonna be one of my all-time favorites, Classics and recent tracks combined! It's simply breathtaking! Just like Push's sound... i'm kinda sad that he drifted away cuz i start missing his sound
