So wondering how the old sound was? Do you have any idea how epic it was – or even how hard and edgy trance music sounded? Ever wondered how scrumptious music was when hard and epic elements were blended with the dreamy melodious elements in order to give us the best and finest of Old Music?

Old Music? yah maybe. Personally when it comes to the listening, it might sound old, very epic even taking us back to the 90’s, bringing back old sounds that helped the Electronic Dance Music scene – and highlighting Trance music – to progress and witness a tremendous evolution which made of it the sound of passion and freedom for all its fans; a fruitful state of mind where growth and progress weren’t but positive forward steps for the whole dance music field. Dance Music’s development was fabulous, huge and quite tasteful: producers were the main hand makers, listeners were the first eye-witnesses, and Music was beautifully the result of a mutual musical language between creators and listeners. Hence no, I call it classic music, with classic hits and classic sounds. The producers that some of us call with old, are in fact, legends; and without them- their music hard deep passion-or their dedicated spirit for decent work, Trance music would’ve vanished long time ago and never seen the good spotless light, and never witnessed the immense evolution throughout the years. From Hard and edgy, to epic and dreamy, and last but not least to the assorted hard-edgy-epic and dreamy sound, a well done mixture which supported Trance music’s evolution since its early age, from its hard sound to the epic and euphoric one in the late 90’s. This is real music, this is the truth people; this is where the current music we listen to comes from … this is our rare unique sanctuary.

When we speak of Old classic music, we should certainly mention huge names that left a very well marked impact on electronic dance music’s scene, underlining Trance music to be more specific. But seriously, it’s quite hard, even old-school music listeners and diggers find it tough and difficult to point their fingers at only one, two or even three producers: it’s a huge confusion, as many of them played an essential role in the progressing likes of Yves Deruyter, Gielen, Johan, Robert Miles, Push, Lustral, Airwave … Same thing goes to the record labels: big names, titles and imprints helped in releasing those classic gems, and made them clear and wide for every single listener, from east to west … for the whole world. Record labels are many, as we can start from Black Hole, Lost Language, and end up with Yeti. Or even start recalling good old ones that barely or don’t really exist anymore, only to mention some like Platypus, Slinky and Lightning Recordings which recently few of its sub-labels restarted in releasing decent productions and highlighting their prominent classics particularly to name the most relevant one known as Bonzai Records. And still not enough only to speak of those. It’s a huge novel, and a quite lengthy history packed with marvelous yet magnificent changes related to Music and major styles therefore leading the scene to our current 21st century music, which is again nil without the evolution of the precedent one. Listening to an old classic compilation on an old digital record label, and produced by a legend artist will illustrate a gigantic joyful grin on some faces, and thus rise up the lovely spirits. Criticizing New-School music can not be done but comparing things to how Music was, positively or negatively speaking; it’s all relative. Looking for details’ not wrong, neither being meticulous or scrupulous is complicated or erroneous. It’s about time everyone to try to find his and his music’s origin, to seek for reality; live the moment, enjoy the current – recent – new music but never forget the preceding one, the one that has seen the light since it’s very early presence, and still offering us listeners, requesters, the therapy we need … the quality we ask for.

Seek to know where you come from; where and how your spirit is eventually and still is being musically fashioned. Hunt for it, for the inner reality in yourself and whispering passion in ourselves, which Music will help you at digging it and experiencing it very frequently. Do your own musical thesaurus, and there you’ll find the meaning of old and new music even the lethal combination of both. It’s an old worthy model world while counting its years on your fingers, however very innovative and precious whenever you get fonder of it, of its main techniques … of its unbreakable rigid yet extremely soft passion.
It’s all fussy and wide to new listeners – clear and un-ordinary goose-bumps spreader for Old-School devotees. Hence this section is made for EACH ONE of you who admires Music, get informed about the pretty Old one … or re-experience it all over again. Admirable Music is for everyone to admire and highly esteem.

This section will include monthly a different Trance classic. Moderators will certainly be the one to display a CLASSIC OF THE MONTH, and by the help of the members (especially the ones whom are really fond of them) we will surely all discuss it, freely hear it and enjoy its tasteful elements and quality sounds to facilitate things for new fans, so as to soar the charming vivid spirit of the old disciples; as well as to show everyone that no matter how Music is old and antique, it is STILL always alive in our hearts, in our passion, in our enthusiasm … in the history of Electronic Dance Music.

One topic about the subject was simply not enough now a whole forum dedicated to the oldschoolers cause...my fellow moderator said it all in this description...this is where the sound was forged...every month now you will be introduced to a new tune or album that was & is always a reference...

Has it is a monthly section. We want the classic to be featured for a whole month so members could all get the chance to be educated about classics! We'll keep on reviving the topic throughout the month before it's time for the next one!
If any member has a classic in mind to be featured the coming month he could msg a Mod and they'll arrange something. But to keep MONTHLY idea controlled i think Mods should be the ones posting, at least for now.

well hasneez the main idea is to have a monthly review about a classic where mods and members will be able to discuss the classic..
now if a member comes with a proper review then we'll be gladly adding his review in this section and if we get many requests we have nothing against turning it to a weekly review.
besides in this section all members are able to create new topics so it's not a mods only privilege.

^ Yea, i support sam's last question. There shouldn't be trance productions that are too recent. 4 years is nothing compared to 10-15 years is it possible Mods?
