Easily easily easily the trance anthem of 2001.
Released on the mighty-at-the-time Perfecto Records and played relentlessly by so many DJs of that period, a herd led by Paul Oakenfold, this tunes combines power, an awesome build-up, the right melodies, and catchy vocals and clings on to your head for as long as you can ever live.
Mekka is Jake Williams from Brighton, UK. He's the man behind numerous aliases but in my opinion have had the utmost success under Mekka than any else. Mekka has only produced one tune: 'Diamondback'. The rest of his work has been on remixes of which Bullet in The Gun and Jan Johnston's Silent Words lead the bunch.

Perfecto Records was founded in 1989 by legend Paul Oakenfold and has since boosted in success over the years. Oakenfold was with Champion Records at the time but left the label to start his own in accordance with the electronic music boom at that time. Perfecto is based in the UK and have launched singles and albums for so many artists over the years including Carl Cox, BT, Hernan Cattaneo, Jan Johnston, Seb Fontaine, Danny Howells, and obviously Paul Oakenfold, among many others.
I'm not sure how Mekka caught Paul Oakenfold's attention for a release, but with a tune like that you'd be a nut to not sign it up for a release.
Fantastic, energetic, atmospheric and a brilliantly composed tune that will fling you years back every time you have it through your player. It's a shame I never got to listen to it on a dance floor!
