This tune is easily a killer and having come out of Orbital's studio is another thing to glance upon. Orbital, brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll, is one (if not The) top pioneer in EDM. Having started productions back in 1989 with their EP Chime, Orbital went all the way to absolute and deserved domination over the english club scene and eventually, the european and global EDM phenomena.
Known for their improvisations and live editing of the tunes played at their live performances, Orbital (who went separate ways in 1994) have produced and released a staggering 14 artist albums and more singles on vinyls then I can count or even know of for that matter across the 90's up to the early 2000's. Orbital have helped build the scene to what it is today with a fresh innovative unique approach to Techno like none other from that era. Their tunes got remixed to every other imaginable sub-genre of EDM including that monstrous Breeder Remix!
Nothing Left was written and produced in 1999. I've chosen this tune among others of Orbital's because it actually had less exposure and fame than their previous work such as Satan, The Box, Saint, and Style. Not that Nothing Left was any less of a tune than the others, but for whatever reason it stayed under the lid, got remixed extensively, and stayed one of those tunes that you'd spot on a dance floor, not what it is, but you'd go mad over how good it is! It's just a shame that Orbital have broken off and have deprived our musical thirst of more and more goodness.
