Along with Gunther & Stamina I also didn't want to be a part of this at all, even though I'm a contributor to DJ Mag Middle East-

The fact that there are totally pointless DJs on this list (one is a known prostitute/ex-porn star!) and obviously from the names you read above u could figure that out on your own. Most don't even play out at clubs/events anyway... 0X

Amin Golestan is a great DJ & a good guy, along with a few other's on the list too, but the whole "Top 50" was just a campaign to get more people to sign up to PlatinumlistDubai's database-

here's an E-mail I got on the subject back in November:

"only registered users can vote in this competition (and it takes about 10 minutes to register and you need unique email addresses) so we should hopefully eliminate a lot of the spam votes.
The good thing about running the competition this way is that the Djs promote their own mix so they will direct a lot of traffic to our site over the next few months."

and that is from the guy behind the whole thing... go figure

There are much better DJs that are nowhere to be found on the list anyway- we all know that

There's a Middle East top 50 now?

No more lists... just enough listing already.

I would say because the people on the list made it to these positions through their friends' votes. Which is fine :) but not on a large scale.

Khalas let's give these people some room. It's only a poll afterall. Some of them deserve it, others... We can't be too sure because let's face it: We didn't even hear most of them play.

First, I would like to congratulate the winners!
Second, I would like to discuss the issue about this poll like madjam did.
I wanted to be part of this poll at first since I thought the people behind the DJ MAG are doing this one. How it works? You actually send them an email and apply for it. Whether you're good or not, they accept you. I guess in the first phae, there were like 150-200 DJs in Total.
When I saw the names out there in December-January, I stopped asking people to vote for me, and became careless honestly. I started considering it as an exposure tool, nothing more. In January, they reduced the list to the top 50 djs (based on votes), and votes were still open until mid January or something.
Obviously, the whole poll thing appeared to be at the end only to promote their own website, as Madjam stated.

Anyway, some people deserved to be on the top, such as Fady, Mad-Jam, Amin etc.. . Other DJs don't even belong there. But after all, like every poll, people who spam the most are probably winning it! :P Whatever the results are, congrats again to the winners !!
The DJs on this list will hopefully have more exposure in the Middle-East I suppose..I hope so!

\o/

Well there's a lot of sickening names on the list but i think it can be a good start for DJs to reference themselves on flyers according to DJ Mag's Middle East Top 50 rank until one day they make it to the international DJ mag list.
Congrats to those who made it, the morons that did make it anyway won't go further in life than bragging about it on msn to their friends and call it a day.

like all DJ polls, they are cheesy worthless popularity contests that have nothing to do with the level of DJing or the wahy they play.
Some DJs that requested 400times for you to sign up and vote, and put it up as their Facebook status for 350 days before results came out was a bit much.

Having said that, Fady should be higher, Hasan should be higher, Madjam and Raneem as well. Amin is a nice guy, but he's the opening DJ of the opening DJ of the opening DJ at one mega club in Dubai, I hardly think that qualifies as number 1. However, maybe he's got a lot of friends that don't mind singing up for Platinumlist.

IF you can make my old ass dance at a club, ur #1 in my book.
