A-mazing guy!! But I just realized something and it is that Mix FM are bringing in a big list of house and progressive djs like Matthew Dear,James Zabiela, Sasha & Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, and now Richie Hawtin. Why aren't they bringing Trance djs?

According to what raneem told me yesterday, trance doesn't attract so many people... there are few trance listeners in lebanon...so organizers don't want to take a risk w end up with 300 people at an event.

I am going to see the WHOLE M_nus crew perform their last ever 2009 UK show in Brixton tomorrow. The night is called contakt and they have prepared for an amazing LED show orchestrated by that Ali Demirel!

Im so psyched about this, should be one of those nights!!

11 laptops (one master clock led by plastikman) and one hell of an LED show.

I was at TDK Timewarp 2008 and Hawtin killed the night. This is a great thing for lebanese clubbers bringing such a legend. Its super unfortunate its at Biel though: Richie Hawtin is a completely different human being/DJ/Alien when he's playing for 5-8hrs in front of a crowd in the 300-600 person range. Bigger is defo NOT Better but I understand why for (financial?) many reasons it has to be done in front of a bigger crowd. I've seen Richie a few times between WMC and europe so doubt I'll fly in, but can't wait to hear the commentary

Well I have to say that during my transformation into a full on alien as I entered the O2 Brixton academy all the way until I was re-synced into human mode, my mind was being shattered into a billion nano-molecules as my fellow m_nus aliens where working their way into one of the greatest live sets I have ever heard (hell I think London ever heard). 11 Laptops all connected in some super duper cool way with Plastikman on the master clock control. The following took turns in destroying the crowds:

Troy Pierce [techno-geek extraordinaire]
JPLS [him linking up with Barem and Gaiser was was was ... I still cant think of a way to describe it]
Ambivelant [played alone for a good 20 minutes and destroyed the crowd with rough insane industrious sounds]
GAISER [what a monster]

The whole crew took turns, alternating between each other, playing versus each other and at points playing all at the same time.

The pinnacle of the night (all throughout actually) was following @rhawtin's tweets via Twitter DJ, and thus getting the TL track by track as we went along with the occasional awesome hawtin comment.

Monster night indeed, I just cant seem to get over how flawless the whole thing from start to finish was although at random points you had 4 or 5 djs all playing at once, layering elements on top of elements, this was mixing as its going to be in the future. Djs playing with random parts and harmonically building a set, much like producing a perfect track. Even better, was at random times hawtin or troy would pump an awesome drum loop then barem or Gaiser would build a bassline using Ableton and add to it a synth layer or a perc from another track, killer stuff, and so well coordinated.

The LED system was out of this world, Ali is such a genius, took us into a journey through space indeed, and alien me felt at home.

If Beirut's gig is anywhere near 3% of what was delivered in Brixton then its going to possibly be Beirut's best ever EDM night by far! Wish I can be there!
