Santiago Niño was born in Colombia and is now living in Guatemala. He began producing at the age of 16, developing his unique musical style through the influences of everything from hard techno to progressive house.
His first ‘bootleg’ remixes were a huge success, landing in the hands of producers such as Marco Carola, Chris Liebing, Greg Benz, and Ozgur Can.
Formerly known as DJ Cuttof, Santiago decided to launch his professional career as a musician using his legal name. He signed his first remix to Seductive Recordings with production partner Francis Davila. Since that time, Santiago’s original productions and remixes have been played by such talented DJs as Mauro Picotto, Marco V, Gabriel & Dresden, M.I.K.E., Sasha, Markus Schulz, Ronski Speed, Blank & Jones, Andy Moor, Perry O’Neil, Max Graham, Matthew Dekay, Sander Kleinenberg, Cosmic Gate, Paul van Dyk , Tiesto and Armin van Buuren. In fact, his most recent productions have caught the attention of Armada Records and Lost Language Recordings, two of the biggest labels in dance music today.
Santiago has begun to explore the softer side of dance music with some of his more recent productions, drawing inspiration from progressive house artists such as Ozgur Can. He is presently working on productions to be released on two Canadian labels, Aurium Recordings (Benz & MD) and Existence Records (Paul K), and one American label, Miami’s Seductive Recordings (Martin Accorsi). Santiago has also signed tracks with Precinct Records, Baroque Records, Connected Records and Electronic Elements Records, just to name a few. However, his talents are not limited to production. Santiago has also been performing as a regular DJ around Guatemala at various events. Considered by many to be one of the ‘future favorites’, there is no doubt that Santiago Niño will continue to produce quality music for years to come.
