Vonyc.com

The problems and effects of Internet file sharing on the music industry are well known. That is why renowned Berlin dj and producer Paul van Dyk has created a revolutionary and visionary concept to offer users legal electronic music downloads rather than illegal downloads from the global web which affects the industry as well as artistic progression. Paul van Dyk's response to this is VONYC.COM.

In the digital age there are many radio stations on the web - broadcasting from all over the world. Many also offer the option of legal music downloads. However this does not seem to combat the problem of file sharing and illegal downloading.

So we asked ourselves, are all the people illegally downloading music driven by criminal intent? It is clear from conversations and exchanges in chat rooms and message boards that this is not the case. Quite often they are music lovers searching for both old and new rare tracks.

Our aim is to manage an extensive, up to date, and clearly arranged library of electronic dance music that we can then make available for legal downloads - giving music lovers no excuse but to do things the right way.

Not your ordinary web-radio station, Vonyc.com is a combination of radio and a music download shop overseen by specialists focussed on the electronic dance scene. A fresh mixture of current top sounds, all time faves and unreleased tracks by the heroes of the scene offering users great potential to download at reasonable prices.

Vonyc is not just limiting this incentive to users but also to national and international artists and labels. The acceptability and the feedback of unreleased tracks could be tested directly at this point of consumption and could in theory lead to the end of expensive test pressings and promotional mailouts with the user able to download the tracks they really want.

Vision
Exciting, fresh content focused on electronic dance music - encompassing current, classic and pre-release tracks.

The ability to listen to tracks before deciding to legally download and add them to your own library.

A radio station, playing the songs you desire to hear without any commercial breaks.

Pure focus on music.

Oh yeah, Vonyc kicks ass btw. Great idea behind the 'watermarking' of the files to reduce music piracy :) .

They also have a wicked radio show too ... bringing quite a few demanding sets like the John O'Callaghan exclusive set that is now shared in the Various Sets section.

I was in London and had a dilemma of what three CDs to choose. They were Carl Cox Gold Edition, WMC Miami 06, and John Askew's Lower The Tone . I contacted Ahmad to give me some veteran advice, and he replied WITHOUT HESITATION, I mean, he replied even before I bloody asked the guy, to get Lower the Tone (which includes 3 CDS of great trance, one CD being LIVE AS FUCKING FUCK!).

So when I tell you not to miss out on this event; take my word ! ;)
