:( :big14: Ladies and gentlemen, sadly i announce that 2008-10-04
it was the wozziest night in Lebanon History
F*ck it was like wazwaz nation.
Amadeus is so good, John Askew is Amazing and so humble "we took picture with him outside @ 5am", PVD kamen he is amazing.
But the organization is so bad, i still have my drink coupon with me, they invaded the bar, they did steal every thing, and they did use the glass bottle as a knife.
Later on, am gonna put some pic in my review for the event.

Hey everyone,

I often visit this forum, even though I never post.

But today, I'm posting on behalf of Mix FM (I'm the co-owner) to share our frustration with the ones that were affected by the problems that occured at the PVD gig. Things got out of hand, despite the experience of the Forum de Beyrouth security, because the underaged people and the many people without tickets gathered at the door and blocked the entries, despite us telling them many times that they couldn't enter the venue and ordering them to go home. Those people were insisting on entering and got so angry that they created a riot and broke many fences and the doors of the Forum in order to enter. We were able to control as much as possible but some of those people managed to enter and were so aggressive that they created a mess at the bar section and destroyed the bar and stole merchandise! They were so "whouch" that the only way to minimize any additional damage was to close the doors around 4 and not allow anyone to come back again, which ended up being a successful strategy.

Anyway, because of what happened tonight with those extremely aggressive people and trouble-makers, the Mix FM management decided to come up with new rules that will be announced next week, such as:

1-Age limit could be 20 years and above.
2-Tickets for events will only be on pre-sale basis.
3-We will limit the space of the venue in the most definitive way and filter very strictly.

Finally, please send your remarks at info@mixfm.com.lb and each person will be taken care of, in our next events which will be Sander Kleinenberg on the 1rst of November, a nice trance surprise in early December and Sasha on December the 27th.

Thanks a lot.
Kareen.

"Could"????? JUST LET IT HAPPENNNNN!

2-Tickets for events will only be on pre-sale basis.

That's a good idea, however, you need to make sure that tickets are not sold out in the stores (virgin, etc...) as many clubbers would be coming from other countries to attend the event, so they shouldn't be dissapointed.

Trancehitters & everyone else that reads this- I have a few things to say...

Spending the last 3 nights in a row with Paul Van Dyk in Doha, Dubai & here in Beirut has been awesome- especially his positive attitude towards the Middle East (Lebanon in particular) as it all ended after his set and he claimed it was his favorite gig of the year- feeling the crowd from the beginning to the end & loving the amazing response he gets while triggering track parts on his new vestax (something) 600 controller...

but only after we left the Forum did I hear about the gate seige and bar attack...

'hooligans' (for lack of a better word) are infiltrating our scene... ruining the fun which these events are all about. Not a problem in Doha (minus that one drunk british dude that tried to run onto the stage for a stage dive 3 times) not a problem in Dubai where the venue was over-packed with an additional 800 over the 4,300 capacity...

it happened HERE IN BEIRUT!

The city that is the 'highlight' to most of the DJs that come to the region- the city that is regarded as "the wildest crowd to play to" as Askew said at the end of his set....

striving to create long nights with good memories only gets over-shadowed by cowardly acts of a few that ruin the fun for us all...

it's a tragedy that earlier tonight the 'hooligans' blocked the entrance casue we rejected their entry- making it hard for everyone else to get in rapidly. An even bigger tragedy that they attacked the bar wanting to get their drinks in a rush with their aggressive behaviour leading to chaos. And who noticed the weirdo with the ice cooler outside selling drinks??

My fellow Lebanese- this is a serious warning... Cairo has 'hooligan' issues that are so deep most DJs refuse to play in the egyptian capital- they prefer a smaller private gig or a club in Sharm El Sheikh now due to the issue... how do I know? I've witnessed the chaos & loss of gate control at the Hernan Cattaneo gig in 2006 and thought "thank GOD we don't have that happen in lebanon!"

but you know what? hearing about what happened shocked me- personally becasue I've been living in lebanon since 1991 and love the spirit here- no matter what political/economic problems we face the scene is still growing! If anyone heard what PvD said on live radio 10 minutes before he got on he's always greateful that loyal people request he comes back and play to our people... after major incidents (assasinations, war, bombings & you know the rest) there's a bigger response everytime he comes back-

hence why he called tonight his "favorite gig of the year" and this is coming from a top ranked DJ that plays at clubs & events that are so big lebanon would be insignificant.... but that's not the case- he loves it here & we love putting on these events for you-

unforunatly the scene in some parts of the world (south america) suffers from major 'hooligan' infiltration that events cease to exsist casue promoters can't ensure teh quality of the crowd-

so are the promoters to blame?

I think not- especially when you go through SO much work to put on a good show with engineers flown in from Holland, dancers from spain, crazy mermaid underwater dancing, and beefing up security... but few people will bring the whole scene down and we should all watch out for this issue before it gets totally out of control.

I can't wait to upload the pictures and video & see all the ones you got as well... at the end of the day (or start of this beautiful sunday) we all just wanna have a good time listening and dancing to music that's the 'soundtrack of our lives' (Dick Clark)

I've read reviews on the increasing number of 'hooligans' at other events, and saw a few strange things in the bathroom- the most important thing is to stop this from spreading...

sorry for the long post- just had to get that off my chest before i get some much needed sleep....

Welcome to DJ.Malaria you may wonder why I called this group Dj Malaria.
Just like Malaria takes over a person's body when it hits them i want my music's originality to control the soul of whoever hears it in that sense my music is more powerful than Malaria, and I'm sure it will but in a positive way of
course.

PLUR men wejje...
