hey ya'll.... we can't keep saying "rocked" here or "rocked" there... it's two totally different scenes- one that's passionate about the one BIG-NAME DJ that was coming once a month last year (that EVERYONE come for) and Dubai where it's all work work work during the week and nothing but lots of alcohol (or Red Bull + Water for me) on the weekends...
true that Lebanon's scene is loud & clear, but we all see how politics unfortunatley have limited the scene's actions- including yesterday's BS...
Dubai can guarantee (at Peppermint) that 2,000 people will come for Ferry Corsten and pay 100 AED = $27 including sponsors making it easier to bring him in for the 2nd time in 5 months.
Lebanon gets more than 2,000 people, but at anytime can be put on hold if someone is killed, war breaks out or a bunch of people take old tires and burn them on the main streets... it's just a matter of political stability in Lebs and there'll probably be more great DJs coming over everyweek!
anyone that's been to the clubs here in Dubai understands "It's not Beirut" but the main advantage here in Dubai is that it's consistent
hope I was clear
trying to show my Lebo-love for all ya'll...
