THE HISTORY OF THE GALLERY...
The Gallery's beginnings are firmly set in the subterranean world of Turnmills night club on
Clerkenwell Road in London. As head promoter of The Gallery, Danny Newman explains "My Dad who ran the club had never really had a regular Friday night. For a while in 1994 we
ran a night called Dance Kult with Red Jerry welcoming along guests such as Andy Weatherall, DJ Dag and Sven Vath, it had similar hours to Trade starting at 4am and going on till 11am on the Saturday morning. It was perhaps a little too hardcore for the time, as no one was really doing straight after hours clubs then unlike now, so we started to explore the idea of something a little more mainstream..."

INTERVIEW WITH PAUL OAKENFOLD
Hi Paul, how are you today?
Paul: Very good, I am busy working in my new studio here in Amsterdam. I am an hour on from you back in England so have been up for several hours already working hard.
You are playing this coming Friday for the 15th Birthday of The Gallery, tell us a little bit about your history with The Gallery?
Firstly I am really looking forward to this Friday. I have been playing for The Gallery right from the very start and it has one of best crowds out there. I have known the Newmans for a very long time and the rest of the team, I have a lot of respect for them and what they do.
What are your best memories over the years of The Gallery?
I have a lot of great memories from over the years. One of them is the people I have met, a lot of people, a lot of regulars who have been coming for many years who you get to know and who come out for when I play. Also living in Los Angeles it gives me a chance to see my friends who come out for Gallery nights which always make for a great party.
