I never really wanted to be involved in such a non-ending debate, but this issue is becoming

ing everywhere. And reading a lot of random comments seriously make me want to throw up! (What I will be writing down below isn't directed to only one person or two, but to many, so please no offence should be taken neither hard feelings should come up out of no where).
Our main problem isn’t the type of scene we go to, it’s that people and especially our population takes things for granted. We make the scene, and the scene is horrible; question mark! Why? Too many people live in a higher state of chimera, always expecting things to be fixed and settled on each one’s way. This is when subjectivity overcomes objectivity, where people criticize every single thing basing on their own beliefs, yet ignoring that everyone is a free citizen of the world capable to do whatever he/she wants eventually but far from being harmful towards others.
Chimera, delusion, illusion, it’s really funny to see people still mentioning the “It’s only about Music” line. This is a gorgeous soaring concept which is not easy to reach, and almost impossible to achieve in our today’s world. I mean, where are you living now?
- If scenes were only about music, then why do we see lasers and sophisticated set-ups, which WE and especially people stating that “it’s only about Music” are the first to
criticize?
- It scenes were only about music, then why do we have to watch shows, lights, Dance choreographies...Etcetera, and even more
criticize ?
- If scenes were only about music, then why do we have drugs applied in the new silly modern way of “raving”? (Needless to say, I am against the usage of drugs at all aspects).
- If scenes were only about music, then why do people get pleasure of the music with an occupied hand holding an alcoholic drink? (Needles to say, that I’m not against alcohol to certain limits).
- If scenes were only about music, then why do we still see organizers bashing each others for God’s sake! Promoters playing tricks over an uneducated crowd, to which they should at least give a glimpse of education, and be ideals for unity, sharing lovely moments under one roof which is Electronic Music.
- If scenes were only about music, then we shouldn’t expect to hear after every single party/gig that this particular promoter lost around 22 K for bringing a quality Dj/Producer, yet other ones increased the income by bringing a famous Dj well known for his shitty taste, especially in the production scene). It’s totally unfair, and definitely not ONLY about Music. (I don’t blame Promoters/Organizers whatsoever either, that’s the way it is in our modern society, understandable!).
- If scenes were only about music, then we shouldn’t have age limit at the doors, driving those young new teen-agers eager to check out what’s inside that black box (therefore, we get a result of special new-shape of 21st century’s juveniles ?). I never really knew ONLY Music alone was restricted to a certain age. But we still have it, and that’s because it’s not ONLY about music, it’s only due to childish behaviors no matter how aged some are.
- If scenes were only about music, then we shouldn't be discussing such a thing already. Though we still do it, every single time before a particular event, after it, or having two verses each others. And that’s clearly not about ONLY music; it’s about a greedy spirit secretly stashed in many out there.
I, among numerous other clubbers DREAM of an “Only about Music” scene. However, this is only a term that reflects our inner-self and beautiful passionate soul. It can not happen in such a world where materialism seems to be above anything else (either we like it or not, it’s a fact we’re living in). The
Only about Music term is a personal way of living and feeling Music on your own way, or even spiritually sharing it with others. But it will never happen on the dance floor. A true loyal and lover for Electronic Music would see everything in this border, will seek for “Only About Music” on his own way instead of imposing his opinion and thoughts over some other soul. This is what we are lacking of nowadays. We are living in an economic world, where business and cash aren’t but daily bread to many people in our quotidian life. Hence it is surely not “only about Music” when it comes to this.
I am not bashing this side or standing to that other one. If you’re a fan of the current b018 ambience then make sure you check out how it sounded back in 2005, and then you’ll notice the huge negative difference. If you’re a fan of the current Basement, then try to count those empty heads you have down there, and then you’ll have a huge number to put aside as well. If organizers are money seekers in your opinion, then don’t be a slave either! Go down and try to make a difference, we are the minority but we’re definitely the most valuable. Or if you’re not into wasting the energy, then stay home and shut up! But don’t come up with complaints criticizing this and condemning that. If you aren’t up for a change, then others will NEVER be. Ignorance is, in a matter of fact, greater than wisdom in almost everything I have seen so far from many people. Yet on the other side, don’t abuse artificial wisdom in order to hide natural stupidity, as this will lead to voluntary ignorance in the overall personality. Don’t come up with statements and try to stick to them in order to reveal the disguised maturity in each one of you.
Come on, get real, such terms weren’t even applied in the initial suburbs of DETROIT and CHICAGO’s district back in the days when people only had a chamber, a table to set the turn tables on and plenty of amplifiers to enjoy Music being played !!!!!!
I wish it was only about Music and nothing else, I want it also so badly, but as I can see well it will never happen anywhere else too these days.
Be rational, actively working for raising our scene to better standards and stop these ironic debates for once. Or else, people will lose hope as many already did, and that’s not because of the uncountable uneducated dickheads out there, but majorly because of spending the days staring at ‘Educated’ spoiled people digging up a hole and burying their heads in it.
