I've always heared about her.. but never bothered to listen to any of her sets... nor attend any of her gigs, nor had the slightest idea what kindda music she plays.
A friend suggest we go Party @ club Vinyl that night... so i was like OK. Came at the door and found a 15$ cover charge... so i was like sweet... they got a visiting DJ tonight!
the warmup DJ was really amazing... always loved the Vinyl Resident DJ... he plays some amazing House and Techno hybrid sets..... then at about 12:00 A.M. sharp came this female DJ with a blonde Mohawk hair do.
So i was like who the fook is that ?
THE CROWD WENT FREAKIN NUTS..... never before i seen them go that crazy in Vinyl ... not at DeepDish, nor @ Ferry Corsten!
and then the announcer welcomes DJ Irene.... so i was like say what??
One thing good about EDM being unknown in the US pretty much, is that the people that go to EDM gigs.... are pretty much mostly educated and know good music when they hear it... so i got really excited when i saw the crowd reaction!
Boy was i wrong.... that short, stocky woman.. blew the shiznet outta the crowed (me included) for 2 hours... playing one of the most Energetic sets i have yet to witness!
ENERGY, ENERGY, ENERGY.. is all this woman is about.
Hardhouse+Melodic/Uplifting trance tracks thrown in here and there to spice things up.
THE CROWD WAS BERZERK.... and her interaction with the crowd can only be parallaled by Yoji and Armin!
and after i thought i seen pretty much all that DnB, Trance, Techno, Hardcore, house can offer.... here comes a new discovery!
Gonna try download each and every set i can get for her, if anyone has some post em por favor!
she is the MATRIX MUSIC WOMAN!
