Basing on the three lists posted above , and taking into consideration your music knowledge , try to argue about the changes that happens in what concerns the electronic music :
do you find rating Djs is fair enough to differ between them ? Is their style in music influences on their rating?
If you find the above ratings unfair, i would like to know why you consider certain djs better than others , how will you rate them ? Basing on their style of music ? skills ?
Finally , if you were a Dj , who would be your Ideal Dj ?One of the top 5? ... Why?
How will you manage to overtake (or keep) the 1st Rank ? And will you count only on people votes or work hard to accomplish what you already have in mind?
Will it be only for POPULAIRTY or for your OWN MUSIC?
This topic was posted for all the members , new & old , but especially for Mods who are already into Djing.

Thank you Shy—Ism, indeed very interesting topic
-Yes their style in music influences on their rating, because the hard beat is gone like rave so
A DJ should change his music or people will forget about him.
-No I don’t find rating Djs is fair enough.
-
-
-
- My ideal DJ is the Mighty PAUL VAN DYK
why? So simple he is the most respected DJ I ever heard about, he composed the most beautiful tune I ever heard (For An Angel), he is so humble…
PVD since the first day he started djing he is working so hard to give this beautiful image about Electronics Dance Music.
[At first my friends who don’t listen to EDM, they asked me why I don’t listen to Arabic I told them I only listen to EDM so they started to laugh (people used to think that EDM is like hard rock and if you listen to it to much then you will suicide, or its like Snap Chit Boom Buzz Thing), I kept telling them they are wrong and I made them listen to Trance especially PVD music, believe it or not some of them now they are addicted to Trance sound.]…

- If I was a Dj my ideal Dj would be PVD
-
-To be honest it will be for both, for POPULAIRTY 15% & for my OWN MUSIC 85%.

A lot has been said about this DJ ranking. The fact that it is only based on popular vote makes it a bit controversial since the DJ that has got the best communication will obviously win it. By communication i mean CD release, DVD release, Radio show and most importantly world tours.

For this reason, i beleive that any DJ that's made it to the top 15 or so deserves to be "a number 1". In other words, i don't really look at the number 1 per sey, but rather to the group of DJs that made it to the top. U can be sure that these have had a good year release wise or touring wise.

For the evolution of people's taste, i feel by looking at the rankings that in the past few years Trance has "beaten" House music. People seem to be more into trance these days. For me, this can be a natural thing, since im more of a trance guy and thus i beleive that trance is "better" than house. But the question that should be asked is: is trance really better than house or do Trance DJs simply have a better marketing team behind them? House fans will most definetly say that it's all about marketing, but in my opinion, i just think trance overall is a better music to party to, it's more emotional...etc...etc... (see "reasons you love trance" topic).

Now maybe this ranking would be a bit more credible if votes were divided in 2 parts: the public and a board of profesionals who would seriously evaluate each DJ's mixing skills. Coz at the end of the day, a DJ is a Disk Jokey, he spins disks, and no matter how many artist albums he may release, he's 1st job is to MIX... But who will this board be to evaluate the likes of PVD, AVB, Tiesto and others?
