who the hell counts beats by knowing how much there are in a minute?!?!?!?

i just dont c the use! just beatmatch by trainin ur ears and even if ur musically illeterate by the time u learn beatmatching u would also hav learned beat structure and would start 2 feel wether that ur on beat #16 of a 32-beat measure or watever else...and if u just wana count beats 2 write down the tempo of each track,just use MixMeister BPM Analyzer

Finding the BPM is not something you should know to beatmatch, i told you all ready, its a knowledge and you cant deny this, ill give a plain example for you to understand what i mean:

Its like when you eat something, you say mm its good, you know its a pasta for example, its enough for you, but how helpfull would it be if u go deeper and find out whats the ingerdiants that the sauce is made off....?

Or your driving a car, all u know is that ur going fast or slow, but its better if u know ur speed by number....km/h

Or ur listening to music, u say its loud or, not loud, but its better if u know by % where the volume is being while u adjust it.

Okey its not related to the main BPM topic but those r simple examples that shows enno its a knowledge, AN ADDED VALUE.

I say again, its not major for u to beatmatch w my post here DOES NOT SAY YOU SHOULD COUNT THE BPM TO BEATMATCH, i say ITS AN ADDED VALUE, A KNOWLEDGE, nothing less, nothing more.

give bpm numbers to a lil kid and he'll become a kickass dj the next day...

counting them doesn't help in mixing or beatmatching because as bexter
and dion said beatmatching haven't a lot to do with the BPM, u just feel it
match it in ur ears between the tunes and fade in/out the tunes.

beatmatching is not about the BPM, it's about finding the beat and mixing
it with the tunes. i agree with u two on that. but BPM count is essential as
a part of the tune structure. i duno if it's only me or that's what everybody
does, but BPM is a very influencing element and helps in my track selection.
i might be wrong, but telling BPM counts also helps in constructing the play
list from slow to faster. i know u can sense the tune being faster to slower
and thus mix better with more knowledge of the tune's structure, and no:
it's not that big mathematical deal to count BPMs lol.. it's not like: 'find the
BPM or ur set is a wreck' but i personally rely a lot on the BPM and
besides, it's just (as patrick refered to it earlier) count the 1st 15 minutes
and multiply by 4, but my main question was if u use any software or do
u only feel it AND count it using ur senses and body parts.

i cast my voice with Patrick's:
'ITS AN ADDED VALUE, A KNOWLEDGE, nothing less, nothing more.'

but i personally do rely on it from time to time in chosing some tunes and
track line-up in sets.

as a Pro DJ, u cannot deny or bypass what ever is related to the structure and basis of a song structure, u can "NOT USE THEM" but u cant deny its importance or under estimate its value just because you dont like doing it or using it.
