There is absolutely nothing new here Q.
Why is it so fucking hard for Trance music fans, who namely disguise themselves as EDM lovers btw, to accept that any music can be fused with any other form of music? It has always been like that. Just like Genesis mentioned, the whole fusion thing between Hiphop and House has been happening since a long time ago.
If it is "trance music's turn" then so be it. You guys make it seem like it's something so
ing.
I tell ya man, I like you for playing those tracks out loud. I have played a lot of commercial stuff. No matter how much DJs deny it, they WILL play "commercial" stuff during the early stages of their DJing before they start shooting up high like AvB and all the rest. You will play what the people want whether you like it or not.
Now that this is out of the way, my response to your question is that this is NORMAL. It is not really a phase, but more like part of the whole electronic music waves. Artists will experiment and come up with either good or bad stuff. Your perception will differ than many others. I will point out, however, that the majority of the people (and I have mentioned this various times) want to go out to clubs to party and listen to songs they know and fusion of music they like. Get it? Their definition of partying is so different than ours by light years! Light years I tell ya! So if let's say Tiesto's new track hits the dancefloor, people will most likely enjoy it instead of wondering if this beat was used in Gareth Emery's remix of Ma7moud Abdelsalam's "Tears of the bird which flew into Ferry's window cuz of sadness".
What I am typing here is something that we ALL know very well and have discussed before. There is absolutely nothing new here.
It is not a phase. It is part of the eletronic music wave. Ride it, or you'll be left behind. You think the 40k ppl showing up at Trance Energy are wary of the music being played? Hell no man! They just go to PARTY. They all know its this big arena filled with loud pumping music, tons of ppl, probably drugs (which we cant deny. lets face it), and long hours of dancing. This is the formula of a good time to MOST ppl (excluding drugs in some circumstances).
The nightlife scene is an industry for most promoters and club owners so it HAS to evolve to meet the people's needs. Don't believe me? I want you to go to every single Dancevalley year's lineup and witness the difference in DJs playing there. Look at all the clubs and the music being played in there! Sure its top 40 stuff, but what are THESE top 40 tracks?
Look at it from the bigger picture.
