I only listened to them on the GU Toronto and, needless to mention that it
was a brilliant album, I was blown away to become a fan. I've never seen
them in a club (as everyone in EDM hates Ireland) so I ran to itunes and
online shops and listened to their productions: disappointing. My conclusion,
at least under Deep Dish, they suck at producing. They are far better DJs as
Deep Dish than they are as producers I reckon.

Recently, they've gone separate ways touring individually (don't know if
they've called in quits on each other) and I also haven't listened to any sets
or productions that Sharam or Dubfire have worked on individually.

I will end up buying their GUs as I admire them both. I know Sharam plays
harder, while Ali plays more vocals and melodies - but which one do you
think is the better of the two on a general overall perspective? More distinctive
sound maybe?

Oh, and if anyone has GU21 Moscow - Should I buy it? Is it any good?

Actually .. its sharam that plays melodies and vocals , while ali aka dubfire plays harder ...

the problem is , together they were brilliant , because they complete each other's taste ... sharam would start , ali would continue , and they would back2back for the last hour or so .... massive sets !!

i would go with ali or dubfire because he is more edgy with his music , there is drive , tech , and he tends to surprise the listeners with cool remixes and bootlegs ... filthy sets !

Sharam is very cool to listen to , great technical skills , but the problem is , after a couple of hours , you feel the set needs to be taken to a higher , different level .. not sure if he is still like that , but last time i saw him , this was the case ... !!

Get it now Gen .. its massive ... cd 1 is out of this world .. and please , when you listen to track 1 on cd 1 , its called driving to heaven ...when the guy says " ooooohhhh ... i am driving to heaven " and then that low guitar riff plays ... remember me !!

and when you get to track 4 , el greco's night watch ... and you get comfortable listening to the melody .. to the extent that you dont want it to ever end ... also remember me !!!

when ali and sharam said they are taking a break from the deep dish days to pursue solo careers , but they will not break up , because they think that these days the sound has evolved past that name , in other words , the deep dish sound is now old and boring ... i totally disagree , they must keep this unique , progressive house legend alive , because almost every where now , all you hear is .... AAAHHH I WISH THOSE DEEP DISH DAYS WOULD COME BACK !!!

there is no competition whatsoever. Gen, GU Toronto is one of my favourites but neither DJ is playing anything remotely close to that sound anymore. Dubfire by FAR more techno, more avant-garde, richer sounds, better productions. Sharam has gone cheese and getting laid a lot more!!! whichever floats ur boat--they've both paid their dues so i respect both. Sharam recently produced a track called Texi which is surprisingly decent, otherwise: all jibneh

I think Texi is more of a redemption by Sharam...someone is trying to get in touch with his darker side...
