2008 has been a meteroric year for Global Underground for the much loved and respected label returning to form with their hugely anticipated Sasha ‘Invol2ver’ album, 2 new DJ City albums from Felix Da Housecat & Nick Warren (forthcoming in Oct), 3 Artist albums from 3 more hot young producers on the critically acclaimed GU Music series and releases from the Afterhours and GU Mixed series to name a but a few...
To celebrate, Global Underground embark on a brand new album concept series, Global Underground 2009.
Comprising a roundup of the biggest underground smashes that have been setting our worlds on fire, from the clubs and A&R scrums in Miami Winter Music Conference, to Midem, Ibiza, and throughout all the countries and dance floors in between... Enlisting the help of Global Underground’s sizeable roster of world-class DJ for their own A&R tips, this is a record that round up a tight and tidy year of dance as well as looking forward to the coming year, with early A&R tips from some of the most respected producers and A&Rs in the world.
With a current Radio 1 A-listed track from J Magick & Wickaman ‘Crazy’, to the producers currently riding high at the top of the Music Week Dance club charts Xpress 2, with their more underground cut ‘Smoke Machine’ (with James Talk on the remix- heavy), the radio smash from Sharam ‘The One’ plus select cuts fresh from the biggest A&R tables, including the new track from rodent headed Daedmau5 ‘Hi Friend’, forthcoming smashes from Axwell & Bob Sinclar ‘Wonderful World’ (with heavy plays from Pete Tog and Zane Lowe), ‘Sample Whore’ from The Japanese Popstars (fresh from their Glastonbury appearance, a former Pete Tong ‘Essential Tune’ and heavily supported from Annie Mac and Zane Lowe), alongside the biggest and coolest club tracks rocking the systems across the globe, from John Dahlback’s mind blowing (literally) ‘Pyramid’, Laurent Garnier’s ‘Back To My Roots’, Underworld’s ‘Ringroad’, and the latest from the biggest names on the scene from Sven Vath, to Bookashade, Dubfire, Felix Da Housecat, Darren Emerson, and a little more thrown in between!
