-not a single one of these artists can at all be labeled anything to do with trance. I dont think a single one of their releases (maybe OLD HOlden) goes over 128bpm, the elements and sounds they put into their softwares aren't anywhere close to trance. its interesting wikipedia put all these artists together who in thier own right are very different.

PS: I love every one of those TECHNO producers though

I really think at one point, Neo Trance will be part of the Trance family, though I still don't understand what it is or what it sounds like.

It's gonna take a little while for people to be able to get it. I remember the first time we brought up this subject was when Doorn released Grasshopper. I think it was more like Minimal/Tech House right? I could be wrong. Help me out here House addicts!

Concerning Neo-Trance it's actually weird if this will be recognized as a subgenre someday. What kind of variations can there be in one main genre? Let's take Trance as a whole, there is the melodic energetic kind that has a fast bpm, the slower progressive kind, the harder kind that can be sometimes melodic and the very fast psychedelic. Fast Melodic, hard, slower prog. Where would neo fit? if people talked about this on Wikipedia then i've heard this "subgenre" a zillion times and i considered it every time melodic! Kyau & Albert make Vocal Trance...
I'm not really into labeling and categorizing. The 3 main subgenres + vocal trance are enough to put tracks in different categories.

If Neo trance exists, i would classify these tunes in this "subgenre":
Re-Ward - Ensure
Wardt - Extensions
MvL & Funabashi - These Days
Mark Norman - Blikken Machine...

I think that Grasshopper is a pure techno track. Influenced with a little bit of minimal.

As for Neo Trance, i think that this subgenre is for trance djs who don't want to admit that they are playing house influenced tracks *wink*

any sub-genre that's based on "deep", "dark", "meaningful" and so forth is simply bullshit! give me a new style of music with existing differences then let's discuss its name full-friggin-stop!!
As for the huge list of DJs, for the most of them that i already know they surely has nothing to do with Trance. In fact, instead of calling their style Neo-Trance because they're too embarressed to admit playing house (if this is the case) maybe they should called it "clit-house" (ala tranceaddict) instead coz their sound IMHO is way below proper Trance sound in any subgenre!
