Dont know why this haven't been posted yet... but ill share the news!

Image

Pioneer's new mixer the Pioneer DJM-700 is an all round basic club/home mixer with a lot of the features and functions of it's bigger brother the DJM-800. The DJM-700 is a lot like other mixers in the current Pioneer DJM series and brings a lot of tricks for a mid-level mixer. Here is the official press release that was send out by Pioneer.

The Pioneer DJM-700 offers a very good effect- and overall sound quality as it is build around the same 24-bit/96kHz technology of it's bigger brothers the DJM-800 and DJM-1000. The effects and filter sound equal to the ones on the DJM-800.

The DJM-700 is available in 2 color : Black and Silver. The black model is DJM-700 and the silver moder add an s : DJM-700-S. So keep this in mind when you're discussing about this mixer. Besides the color there is NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL between the DJM-700 and the DJM-700-S.

Added to the toolbox is a Manual Filter to control a low and high pass filter. The Manual Filter has a double function, it can also control the effected frequency for the regular Beat Effects section. There is also a new effect 'Crush' added to the regular content of the Beat Effects section. The sound of this effect is like the Crush on the DJM-800, only difference is that the effect is now linked to the BPM counter.

Any comparative sheets/tables between the 700 & 800?

umm.. as far as i remember, no digital inputs, no sound color effects..

700 comes in two colors  with hpf and an lpf... and it has a bpm-linked crush effect (crush basically distorts the signal which gives it a cool effect)

ill try to find and get back to you!

This is bald statement; but I strongly believe that the Pioneer is not the
endline of mixers out there. An affordable and better mixer is the Ecler Nuo
Series - but that's just my opinion.

Lovely, seems great...most probably the price on all former pioneer mixers will drop a bit...

The DJM-700 also features multiple effects that can be synced with its tempo (beat) capabilities:

Beat Effect: Pioneered from the DJM-600, the beat effect has evolved into a 96kHz / 24-bit high performance effect in the DJM-700. The mixer automatically detects the tempo, also known as beat per minute (BPM), of the tune so the effects are aligned perfectly with the beat. The DJM-700 enables various effects such as delay, echo, trans, filter, flanger, phaser, reverb, robot and crush. Roll Sampler: The DJM-700 incorporates a new roll sampler with a 96kHz /24-bit output which enables the user real-time sampling of sounds. Four patterns of sampling are available which includes roll, reverse roll, pitch up roll and pitch down roll. Beat Select Buttons: The mixer incorporates two beat select buttons letting the user quickly select the effect timing to maintain synchronization between the beat effects and audio.

Fully Assignable MIDI functions DJs with external equipment such as DJ Effectors or DJ software applications that support MIDI control can rely on the DJM-700 to work in unison to create the ultimate DJ experience. Many of the dials and switch information of the DJM-700 can be converted to MIDI signal format. Up to 49 keys are assignable providing complete control of MIDI devices directly from the mixer with complete synchronicity.

Features:
Digital Output Terminal: Outputs 96kHz / 24-bit sampling rate
Cross Fader Assign: Each channel of the mixer can be assigned to the cross fader
3-Band Equalizer: A built-in equalizer on each channel
Fader Curve Adjust: The user can change the cross fader/channel fader curve

Seems like a good basic mixer with the most important stuff being the filters.. no filter though for each channel...

seems a little too expensive for what it can do :/

its considered a mid-entry level mixer.... its aimed for those who want more than a 2 channel but somethign less than the 800!

I think it's mainly for home use if you're a bedroom DJ. Nothing a club would buy anyways right? It looks sweet on the other hand. I find bxtreme's comment very true. It's just too expensive for its capabilities but then again it's not really made for heavy use.

P.S: 3aly, I changed the image you put up since the link was broken and there was no image showing up.

^wierd.. the image was working fine... you might wanna add another pic with the other color maybe??

anyway, i dont think the mixer is "too expensive", you can get the djm-800 for 1200 US... so this will definatly be cheaper..

there are alot of ppl buying the 800 for home use.. your average bedroom djs dont mix by key and i dont think they color effects matter much to them...

digital inputs are important but that's if you use a digital source (not ur RCA connection but your XLR on your CDJ)

its true, no filters for each channel, but the 800 doesn't even have these filters and its crush effect is not linked to the bpm...

I say all the things you are missing out on are worth the few hundred dollars reduction in price...

that is definitely subjective, some value thier digi inputs higher along with the ppl that prefer the missing features..

the djm700 to the djm800 is the same as the cdj800 to the cdj1000

you get most features, for a cheaper price!

its still not out yet anywhere!! ppl are assuming the MSRP is going to be between 1000-1200, the 800's MSRP is 1500-1600...

You can get the 800 for basically 1200 brand new from an authorized dealer, so I hope the 700 goes for 800-1000
