^ Nothing really, Immy. Pure kick arse full-on psy - no additives
You really want to know what keeps you going?
Right, London is one of the largest cities of the world with over 10 million
residents. The odds of meeting the same face down the streets in a place
like this is 1 to 10 million - theoretically and practically impossible.
Holding that thought for now.
The London club life is from the finest in the world and most underground.
Psy is surviving in London, is alive and kicking harder than ever.
You want to go clubbing in a place like London, the web is you're guide
or some deserted wall in Camden Town, Brixton, or Seven Sisters of
which graffiti had its share of its bricks.
It takes me an average of an hour and a half to find a psy party -
Venue? never heard of it.
DJ? never heard of him.
Ads? Don't bother.
Between words of mouth and flyer handed over randomly to you in the
streets, you make your way to the party: small cozy venue, trippy deco,
300 clubber tops - and a blast off in two rooms: one would be chillout and
prog, and the other is a ripping 150 bpm+ psy ranging from morning
full-on to pitch dark.
Now, let's return to that thought we held up there:
You meet the
SAME faces in
EVERY party you go to
OVER AND OVER AND
OVER.
What are the ods? I don't bother thinking about it.
In a highly populated and congested city where EDM is the life stream of
its night, this for me is pure magic.
More?
You go to the venues to dance for the music. You don't even know the DJ.
You go to the party to knock your brains open. The
SAME smiley faces you
see at
EVERY SINGLE psy party walk up to you with bare feet, offer you a
smoke, a sip of water, ask you how you've been since the last rave, and
if you're going to the next one. You don't even know their names. You
take off your shoes and you let your body talk and you dance, dance, and
dance till you drop... You dance as though this is the last day of your life.
Bar? Deserted.
Hook-ups? Don't bother, no one's there for a hook-up.
Security? None.
This for me is worth trance as a whole.
This for me is a whole different world.
This for me is a religion, a community of its own, a floating spirit, and a
vibe, an underground carefully selected bunch of psy heads, a bunch of
gurus that exist for one reason: DANCE.
I respect the fact that you all have different tastes.
I respect the fact that people have different interests in music and a
different interpretation for the music they listen to.
And just like I do, so shall you: Psy trance, in my humble & modest
opinion, is light years ahead of trance. Trance is behind... so behind...
Between the complex structure, the relentless efforts to keep it
underground, and the its-too-fast-and-hard-for-me phobia that trance fans
suffer from, Psy stands out from all EDM and you can mark my words on
this.
I hope trance can offer this someday, because you are all missing out on
a lot of magic... a lot more than I can put in words.
