found a Pioneer HDJ-1000 in London with an excellent user feedback

compare the Technics and the Pioneer.. they actually have the same ear
cuff adjustment. the bid is still 29Â£ now for the Pioneer.. BUT u cant bid on
the Technics.. it's only to be bought straight away for 142Â£ (ripp off!)

Bilal: going for either the techs or the pios, or maybe even a pair of seinnheisers would be a great choice.. try to use each and then go with what "feels" right... skinny people might prefer small lightweight headphones.. people who have big hands and heads may want to work with something heavier... also each one sounds differently so see what suits u better.. any showrooms/retailers around where u live?

madjam: ur great words about the technics make me really wanna try it.. ive been using the hdj1000s for more than a year and theyve been great... sometime around last month my friend was using the really old techs.. they had small earcups.. a black and purple design with a light plastic body.. didnt really like them but im sure they were one of the older models...

yeah the pioneer have the same cracking of the joint (not the hash!) problem. Just by the design you can tell the technics was built to last....
The Pioneer have the same weak joint (king size!) as the sony just a different design. the rectangular prisms that make the joint are flimsy plastic. dude if you didn't buy a pair yet then don't waste your time with anything than the technics.

Thanks for the links Gen. I even found more attractive ones on EBay. I think I am going for the Technics, that's pretty much final. Pioneers are great, but way too many people own them. I am gonna get something less used in the market (at least in Lebanon).

EBay has just informed me that it will send me a brand new SONY MRDV-700 (new generation) for half the price :!:

The guy is banned (I am not sure whether temporarily or forever) from the site and so he no longer can sell products.

I was given the option of either half-priced SONY or my money back (and doing the bidding process for a new headphones all over again). I opted for the first. I never had MAJOR reservations about SONY, I was just worried that they would break. Again, I'll be extra careful with them.

Ahmad, none of your comments lose any of their value with regard to the Technics. However, this is your perspective and you are a professional FULL-TIME DJ. I, on the other hand, view DJing as a hobby of mine. A very dear hobby, but still a hobby. SONY may not fit the bill for a guy like you, but I hope it would do so for a guy like me.

So back to the SONY camp

Cool... good luck with them bro!

I enjoyed the Sony back before the cracking days, but even if you don't use them everyday, still once it cracks your gonna beat yourself up for not buying the better pair (as you said in my opinion!)

Def still push for the Technics... and 2nd hand? hmmmm must be something (sniff sniff) fishy about it!
