I started listening to Trance in 2004-05..
So for me, I guess 2006 was the best between 2004 - 2007.
We'll see what 2008 is offering.

1999 - 2000 was a great year , i agree ... i also think 2003 / 2004 was a bump for trance , it got regenerated again ...

so i am not sure , what year i should vote for ... !?@!@#

and just a note , i disagree with people who say , trance is dead , and trance will never be trance again ... i think its more alive than ever !! it just took a new direction ... everything evolves , nothing stays the same ... sooo many good work is being put out lately ... i think you cant just say ... i wish 1999 would come back !!!

1998. 1999 was decent too. if trance was a line on a timeline its been going drastically downhill since 2001 (the final year IMO of epic trance music).
Q I agree with you that its an evolution and it might not be dead etc.etc. on a personal level however, I despise the evolution and have completely given up: trance is dead (for me). Raneem's sets from 2007 was the last trance I heard and never again. Dio ur new shit isn't classified as trance in my book!!

Dear Gen...do you always have to read my mind?? ...1998 was indeed a fabulous year for trance...I mostly name the GU compilations with hit tracks by Deepsky, Van Dyk, Albion and many more...also Bonzai was very active with their releases with Airwave, Push and Yves Deruyter...we also had quality psychedelic and the progressive sound rising...so no question about it...greatest trance year ever was 1998...the sound may not have been mature before that and afterwards there may have been even better music but you gotta come back to the roots and the origins...

Sam: i almost agree with you about Trance being on a timeline. IMO trance started going downhill in 2007 although many tracks till today are quality, but not as much as before 2006. A lot today are also addictive for my ears. It's just a feeling i have about this downhill and i know that soon it will go up again

i Started listening to Trance in debut 2005 ... and for me 2005 was the best year because know i prefer by far the 2005 productions than the 2006-till now ... there was a lot of quality tracks to which I still listen now.
But I have many sets from 2000 (tiesto - Oakenfold - PvD - Ferry Corsten ...)
So I'm lost between 2005 and 2000 ...
