Ambient/Chillout in Gemayze?

Dio, you already know about my personal opinion. It's an excellent idea as long as the Music fits in a pub, and maintain its main cozy concept: a place to go to in order to relax, spend some time and enjoy the drinks with a flavor of some tasteful chilling Music. Needless to say that the place should be cool and comfortable unlike some (80 %) major nerve-racking pubs randomly showing up and unable to illustrate the difference between general pubbing and unsystematic clubbing.

i think this is an amazing idea , keep us updated on when the place is going to open and stuff ... i really like the idea that it will open weekdays 2 , after a painful day at uni or work .. nice to chill , have a couple of drinks ..

As I mentioned in the first post, the Chillout/Ambient option was for the weekdays only, not the weekends. After gathering opinions from different sources, Ambient/Chillout will be restrictred to Sunday nights only. I'll fill you in with further details about this soon-to-open pub very shortly. Gemmayzeh...
Personally, i used to think it was seriously overrated; A bunch of snobs who get together to gobble down small zucchinis and drinks while listening to Jazz or Soft Rock, etc.
But, i think it's starting to catch up now =P When i walk down Gemmayzeh street on saturdays and fridays, i like what i hear. But on weekdays, i almost puke at some pubs' music. So, i guess, this is a splendid idea, which could help Gemmayzeh become more... club-friendly

downtempo is a lot better than ambient and much more eclectic--a little something for everyone: jazz, vocals, band, electro, etc. good luck. sounds great.

What's the name so I can book my next sunday night in Lebanon. I love ambiant/chill out in bars, as long as they are confortable too (if it's gonna be ur standard gemmayzeh bar with wooden chairs that are half as big as your left leg then it's no use, hehe!!)...

I'll hopefully be in Lebanon in March, nothing sure yet tho... Just crossing my fingers so I can be there for nick warren!!! If not, it'll have to wait for summer I'm afraid...

But will surely be checking this pub out... Why do I have the feeling your a resident there on weekends? Hehehe!!

^ Is there really a difference between downtempo and ambient? I use to consider Richard Dorfmeister as ambient.. where do 'Telefon Tel Aviv' fit for example?
