Trancelvania, get it over with! :P
I'm actually enjoying the responses here cuz I sorta get what some people dig when it comes to EDM. Great choice Raneem! Swing4's choice is a good one too! Any all time fave bassline u got buddy? Oh and Trancer1084, I don't think I've heard that tune =/ How old is it?

maDJam I'm unable to identify the tracks that you posted but I'll check them out later since I was never really a house fan >_< Atlhough I've heard some good stuff for Van Helden. And yeah just like Ant-1 and Ranolado87 posted earlier, Andy Moor basslines are amazing. I won't forget the time when I first heard Halcyon! Oh man! What orgasmic bassline that was!!! And Dio, thanks for the usual essay, I'll grade it soon... You might end up with a D+ this time mister! haha. But seriously, browse through your library and let me know your personal faves. I heard you used to be into melodic EDM back then before you got into the darker side of it! There must be a track that it's bassline drove you nuts ;)
Immy, that's a classic right there buddy! Very well picked.

Any more responses? What happened to the rest of the members? Hmmm?

So you got no fave classic? It's really sad to find that the majority of EDM lovers are mainly newcomers....

As for old basslines, when i got introduced to trance about 6 years ago i used to think Darude bassline was good! (Ie Feel The Beat wo hal 2orta ), the technology used to produce music wasn't as good as now!
Now everything changed! I feel Fred Baker delivered some wicked Basslines example: Fred Baker Vs Nyram-Confirmation!

Ill dig up others to comment about !
once upon a time there was a boy that was born to make a change in this cruel world of mortals. this boy became a man and this man became old and died. thats about it..

Well crow, i want to state my opinion concerning old basslines..
I guess nowadays basslines are better than Classic tracks' basslines.. i have to agree with Icepick saying that technology has evolved a lot..! Old basslines weren't compressed well (even the track itself didn't have the quality of sound that we're having today), and they used to have almost the same sound, with the same way of composing them (as far as i know, based on my archive..if im mistaken, plz correct me)..

Today, the look to bassline has changed. It is one of the most important components of a track, and offering a good bassline equals offering a good track! Now producers are using different sounds of basslines, and at least 2 basslines together (making them complementary, if i can say that). Best examples are Airbase, Sean Tyas in the uplifting field, using at least 2 basslines at the same time (one as a sub-bass and the second as a low-mid freq).

So listening to today's basslines makes me kinda forget the old same-sounded and arranged basslines..
What do u think ?

I think that as long as it sounded good back then, it wouldn't really matter how well it was produced. Dude, have you heard Moonman - Galaxia? You can tell that the track was very poorly produced but it still IS a classic and people still play it! Great tracks will stay great tracks no matter what! Even if they were produced using a Casio small piano ;)
