Music for me can sometimes affect our "personality". And these effects can be reflected by our mood, behavior, clothes even looks!
This point was already discussed by most of you..

i think our "personality" can also affect music, or to be more specific, affect the way we perceive music.. We may affect music by our way of understanding it; music can't always be in control!

I think it depends on the "personality" that music can affect it or not. If a person is too dependent, vulnerable and has a low self-esteem, music can easily affect him. Music will give this person its own style.
It is about the potential a person's "personality" has to accept that change [/align]

i think that there is more to personality than just a few genres of music and styles........i mean.........sometimes just a word or a phrase in a song(be it happy or sad.....be you depressed or overjoyed......) can created profound effects..........sometimes a memory that is linked to certain song...........a childhood memory.........or a completely unrealted memory can put u in the mindframe u were in wen u listened to that song......regardless of wat genre it is or if u like it or not..........and then again personality is not so easily mouldable .......id hate to see people changing moods with the change of a track!!!it depends on your state......wether u are vulnerable or not.........whether u are suceptible to baing influence by music or not............and i hate pigeonholing people who listen to a sort of music into mtv-related groups...........i love edm........but i equally love prog-rock.....and being a guitarist for 5+ years now.....i understand the music and value it for its unbelievable level of musicianship required.......(you trying a 7/4 then 5/4 rythm back to back in 32nd notes like dream theater!!!).......edm music is generally less complicated and is steady 4/4 with anticipated breaks and builds.......but it creates emotion and therein lies its power..........so personality is affected by a million things.....psychologists still have an unbelivebaly hard time coming up with a significant personality model that is not related to ethnic wherabouts........thats another thing.........the way things affect us is differant that the way things affect people in say....sweden....or canada........geographical location is an important factor............and as our personality develops(not changes......everything leaves an imprint and it moulds you)..........the musical taste accompanying it also alters..............i hope it made sense to everyone and was a worthwhile contribution!!!

Feck, Beta_Bwoy ... you need to learn how to "toiype" man. But I loved what you said though! It relates to what I feel too, thats why I enjoy a lot of genres because each track brings a visual effect on me that may remind me of a past experience (in an odd way).
