m not hating a producer or loving another Samer. I only tend to accept
and like, or repel and dislike what i listen to from any DJ or producer.
I've nothing against anybody, i just care for what they deliver and that
doesn't interfere with any perceptions concerning trance.
be it my neighbour or AvB: i listen to what i like, and i dont care who's
producing it. i've no comment on what other people listen to or like in
certain productions, but my aural satisfaction isn't being delivered by tunes
from Yahel. that's my point toward Yahel...i agree that he's way behind
the typical goa along with J00F that isn't a totally dedicated psy producer
nor Yahel is (al least not any longer).
as for progg in his productions, well (once again) progg, likewise other
trance sub-genres is huge samer and im sure u agree on that. i'm not
interested in Space Manoveour's progg, for example. my interest in progg
is that in Antix, Pig+Dan, Freq..ect... hard edged progg. yes, Yahel do
produce progg-psy (remember his album 'Hallucinate') and there was
some in his latest album (though i listened to it once and i honestly don't
fully remember it coz i got rid of it straight away). it's not my type of progg
and i honestly considered it too smooth to be progg when compared to
the progg i enjoy. it's just that u listen to the darker chunk of progg.. a
different spectrum.
yes, many follow the standard 4/4 but recent faster psy productions
doesn't always mean it breaks that trancy pattern as u said. it might
exceed the 150 bpm but it doesn't eliminate the 4/4. they aren't related.
being faster doesn't exclude a tune from following a trance pattern. if that
so, then hard trance is not even trance from the place.
my final point in this:
J00F and Yahel are not pure psy producers but J00F is more commited to
psy influences than Yahel has been lately. imo, Yahel is a melodic-progg
producer with decreasing psy influences in his latest album and probably
it's still declining as we speak. pure psytrance though, is a totally different
debate.
