Ladies and gentlemen...be prepared to be amazed, not to mention dazzled, by Sasha’s brand new invention…the Maven!

Some of us like retreating to a haven.
Others, mainly bird lovers, are fascinated by the raven.

Sasha, however, has pushed the ‘aven’ scene even further. He’s got a Maven.

And what, prey tell, is a Maven?

Basically, it’s a unique custom made controller that Sasha and his technician chum have invented in order to push Ableton Live to it’s limits in a live scenario. Inspired by his Ableton work on his last mix album ‘Involver’, Sasha ditched the decks and has used their ground breaking software ever since.

Tried and tested in many a venue, Sasha has now created the ultimate controlling device for Ableton Live that allows him to loop, edit, sample, layer and re-edit even easier than it was before. This has inspired and excited the man like Mr S so much that he’s happier to go gigging more than he was during the heady days of rave so many years ago.

So will the Maven ever be released to the general public? Of course not! It’s Sasha’s unique toy, and he intends to keep it that way. However, you can get a taste of what it enables him to do on June 13 when Global Underground release ‘Fundacion NYC’ – a brand new mix from Sasha that captures the vibe of his US residencies with Fundacion.

The mix, that only took him a matter of days, will showcase the most intricate capabilities of Ableton. At one point Sasha bring elements of five different tunes in at the same time! Wow, now that’s what we call good DJing.
