Trancy sounding Pop songs

Looks like it's the new trend, most tunes that have some of the Europhic dance feel are becoming instant hits, all the Lady Gaga crap never leave the billboard charts, Enrique Iglesias Taking back my love got it's Trance remixes and treatments already and the Latest from no one else but the BACKSTREET BOYS which was released today on the Radios and already a huge track in the US and China :

The Synths are extremely basic but catchy, most of these tracks are produced by the same Guy, RedOne.
Do you guys think the Europhic sound is making a come back ? Specially after Tiesto's latest track, maybe he reads what the crowd wants better than the rest of the producers, but most importantly will Trance slow down the death of pop music after the long take over by hip-hip artists ?

i guess pop is trying to get help from dance music to create fresh new sounds. Personally I wont call this sound euphoric, but for sure pop is overly using synths that have been used by eurodance and early trance productions.
Akon? oh pls, this guy gives me nuts every time they play one of his 2 songs on the radio (which is every 10 minutes including commercials)

But to answer you question , i personally feel that styles have crossed over so much in the past couple of years ! House and techno tracks have become more melodic, trance tracks have slowed down and they are sounding alot like house , Hip Hop incorporates alot of melodies from EDM , and your everyday radio hits are sounding more and more dancy .

When i was in college ( and no that wasnt in 1543 !! ) the hits on the radio in the US , were mostly rock . We did have the occasional eifel 65 - blue , and la bouche's be my lover . But that was the minority . Now , people's tastes have switched more to dance music sounding tracks , its just the cycle . Many people blame club drugs , and that people are using them more these days , so this kind of music is on the rise .

Whatever the reason is , artists would like to follow trends where they will be popular , and sell more records !!
