Sound Sample packs and their prices.

I was browsing and couldn't help it but be amazed by the quality of the sounds and turned off by the price tag, aren't they overpriced ?
Over 500$ for a sound pack is a bit too much, specially for people that still can't get their stuff out there, and even if they do it probably won't even make half what they paid for to establish their sound.

I'm considering putting my money on

there are tons of webpages where you can get these sound packs and VSTs for free..

I know it's not a general rule but usually a free sound = cheap sounding tune, sure talent plays it's part but those unique sounds are pretty hot and could boost the track quality by miles.

500$ is a bit too much for vsts and samples.
I never think to pay more than 50-100$ per a pack
