agree with all your points Proof. The thing is the internet is here to stay and unless we "communisticize" it, people will open blogs and release free tracks and free albums for everyone to see. The onus is on the labels to come up with different formulas as well as the artists themselves. its obvious the old formula is no longer working.
Mainstream artists have realized this and you have those like Madonna, JayZ, Radiohead no longer even making deals with labels but with concert promoters. I am not sure that would work with EM (especially not the big names) but something has to be brainstormed and resolved.
Asking for the goodwill of the world to stop downloading and just go purchase is (unfortunately) NOT going to happen.
Do I download for free? From time to time, sure. If I love something, I go and buy it, if I don't love it I delete it. But I've also paid my dues, I'd say between CDs, DVDs, rave tickets, club tickets, club promotions, I've easily spent over $25,000 in a 15yr clubbing career. Is that a good enough excuse to "steal"--probably not. :blush:
