Hey no ! Soulful house is good, used to be top-notch back in the old days. But the thing is that soulful couldn't remain on the scene as much as other music genres did, so it stayed either the same or witnessed some tiny changements which weren't appreciated by all. From my part I like Soulful House but it has to be like one of the most genres I'd be picky about, and definitely selective.
As I mentionned in some other topic, many Djs/Producers started and kept on with Soulful House, however it becomes more famous when it's blended with Deep House ... there you notice deep sounds with an 80-old-school vocalist singing at the background, or any soulful effects coming from behind being mixed with deep elements, or even with Acid Jazz and therefore reaching the combination with Garage Electronic sounds and grooved Ambient/Chill-Out.
Names like Turntable Brothers, Marques Wyatt, Eddie Amador, Dennis Ferrer, Gabriel Rene, Mixmaster Morris, Felix Laband ... etc.
Soulful House can get boring by itself if it weren't done really good, but what many don't know is that Soulful House has many derivatives and that some essential part of Electronic music started from there. It's like numerous people don't appreciate it but they actually have it in everyday's music. Without it EM wouldn't have evoluted and reached what it is right now afterall, a big part of it would be lacking I bet. And if I ever want to listen to such sounds, it would actually be only for listening or chilling, as more preferable in sets than by listening to seperated original productions and so on.
The Music was New, black polished Chrome and came over the summer like liquid Night ...
