Raneem, Bonko's right.
Try to target smaller labels where your releases can get more exposure and
not get over-shadowed by big names that might be hosted by them labels.
You want an online label as those labels can get to the majority of audience
since online downloads are now dominating the scene.
However, you want a respected label that has its connections and marketing
policies that would help you get to were you want with your tunes. No disrespect
to anybody or any labels, I'm sure many work hard and many start from the
bottom of the ladder but you want an established label that knows what it's
doing and not a label run from the bedroom.
There are many of them labels so be selective. I know in your situation you'd be
sending tunes everywhere to get a signing but you're wasting your effort and
morale on labels that might not even look at your package.
I can recommend one for you that is behind really very good names today. Not
huge names, at least not in the Uplifting Trance area of things, but they're open
for everything of good quality. It's owned and run by a trance legend and he
takes it on him to promote and support upcoming talent.
They've released for Viscid, Whirloop, Steve Birch, Digital Blonde, Anton
Chernikov, Beetseekers, Stardesign, CiberianSun, Viscid, Incolumnis, and a lot
more that I simply can't remember right now. Yes, they're not a big bang, but
doing really well and are behind many other names that I might not even know
of.
John 00 Fleming runs the show down there and he knows the business and the
scene inside-out. The man's been around for over 20 years and you can't go
wrong with his label. Yes, they're underdogs compared to Armada or Vandit or
ayre... but give it a try. Just hope they can get to listen to it because they
receive over 400 tunes a week from talent all-over. You only have one shot at
it and they will most likely listen to it so make the most of it.
They've got the backing of everybody - MoS, Euphoria, Crasher, Godskitchen....
(oh, don't send samples, they hate samples. They simply throw them away.
Send full tunes, plenty of them...)
