After a few weeks of holiday it’s back on the road again. It was great to have some time to finally see my friends and family and to update the studio with some new stuff. I also worked hard to finish the new DVD...
The Armin Only 2006 DVD has just been released and is in stores now. It contains a registration of the Armin Only party we did last year in Ahoy’ Rotterdam. It was a lot of fun to work with Corrino to finish it. We had so much material that we decided that the DVD should be a double disk. I didn’t want to cut the main feature, which now takes almost 2 1/2 hours. So all the bonus features are on the second disk. It’s so nice to see the different shots. Because I was standing behind most of the performers, I couldn’t really see their performance, so watching all the footage made me relive the night. (If you want to see what I saw, have a look on the second disk. There’s a feature called “multi angle opening”. You can select one of the eight camera’s that were filming during the opening and the curtain drop. Each angle gives a different view of the show.)
I am happy to announce that “A State Of Trance” is back on the Dutch radio! Holland`s finest radio station for dance music Slam!FM asked me to fill in the Friday evening with ASOT, which was of course an offer I could not refuse! It is good to see that the interest in the music we all love, trance in all its forms, is still standing strong. The broadcast will take place every Friday night from 22:00 till midnight. I just heard, while I am writing this, that Slam!FM has rewarded my newest single “Armin van Buuren vs Rank 1 – This World Is Watching Me (featuring Kush)” with the title “THE GRANDSLAM” (Track of the Week)!!
It seems far away but Thursday the 17th of may we will celebrate the fact that ASOT is reaching episode 300! Just like when we held the ASOT 250 party in the Asta, which was an absolute highlight in my career, I want to celebrate this with you!
ASOT Episode 300 will take place on the 17th of May at the “Pettelaarse Schans”, 's-Hertogenbosch in the south of Holland. The planning? A big FREE party with several guest dj`s. I am happy to let you know that my dear colleagues Marco V. and Rank 1 confirmed for this memorable party that I do not want you to miss. Another great day to look forward to is actually the day after ASOT 300: the release of my new mix cd “A State Of Trance 2007”!! Currently I am selecting the songs and I must say I am really pleased with the gems that I got to chose so far. If you have any suggestions, do not hesitate to let me know.
My first gigs this year were all great. I was really nervous to get back on stage in Poland. It was only my second time there and there were 9000 clubbers with hands in the air. I’ve always been amazed by the huge love for trance by the polish. It’s great to see so many clubbers sing along with a record that isn’t even a month old!
Playing in Lithuania and Lativa was another great experience. These countries know exactly what’s going on in the world of dancemusic, even though you may think you’re far away from home! Playing on valentine’s day in Riga is becoming a tradition now and the room in Lithuania was crazy!
Another highlight for me this year was my gig in Romania. I played in a sportsarena in the middle of Bucharest. I really felt a connection with the crowd, especially at the end of the night. Everyone simply stayed!
Last weekend I played in Lush Portrush (check out that place!) and finally returned to one of the clubs where it all begun for me, Passion in Coalville UK. I hadn’t played there for more than 4 years. As much as I love other UK clubs, there’s something magical about this venue they call “the emporium”. JFK with his “come on passion” and the whole vibe. Whoever said that clubbing in the UK was dead, last weekend proved the opposite!
It’s back on the road again for me with a lot of great gigs coming up. If you’re coming to Miami during the WMC I hope to see you at the pawn shop or at the Armada party the next night at twilo.

Armin and Rank 1 teamed up and created "This World Is Watching Me" with lovely vocals by Kush. It is now out on vinyl and CD single! The video was shot in Iceland and during the second edition ofArmin Only in Ahoy Rotterdam where also performed this single Live together with Rank 1 and Kush!
