Thursday - VONYC SESSIONS with John Askew

Another exciting VONYC Session with John Askew, who describes a normal evening at work (for him) like this : „In the UK – it’s normally hours in the car listening to bizarre regional radio. Check into hotel. Eat dinner and get pissed. Go to club. Abuse, punish and violate the sound system till it yields. Fall over.“,will induce you out off your armchair.
So put on your dancing shoes, free your apartment from unnecessary furniture, tune into and be moved by another extra-ordinary set of John Askew.

The album everyone is talking about has finally arrived albeit in limited quantities. Without a doubt this was one of the highlights of the Recoverworld calendar as we took our flagship label, Discover - and two of its main players, Askew and Hardwick up to a packed house at the Emporium.
The fact that we recorded such an amazing night has led to what many are describing as "the trance album of the year".
Don't take our word for it - Mixmag have made it next months "Album of the Month"
Check the track listing - check the audio clips, then do yourself a big favour and put it in your sonic armoury before they all go.
Next John Askew Dates:
Saturday, November 11th – The Escape (Swansea)
Thursday, November 16th – Conception, The Apartment (Dubai)
Saturday, November 18th – Ministry of Sound (Singapore)
Friday, November 24th – The Gallery, Turnmills (London)

Saturday - VONYC SESSIONS with John '00' Fleming

John's career started some 18 years ago when his headmaster asked that he play an under 18s night for the school. After just one appearance, John was asked to become a resident at the now legendary Sterns in his hometown of Worthing. He was aged just 15. Fleming honoured his residency throughout the 80s and during this period, shared the decks with some of dance-music's most treasured DJs, including Carl Cox, Fabio and Grooverider at the club's 'Interdance' night. As acid house and the rave scene reached new heights, John stepped forward as one of the leaders of the movement, DJing at Fantazia, Raindance and Ibiza as far back as 1987.
Arriving back on British shores, John filled a residency at the Zap Club in Brighton together with Tall Paul and Eric Powell. He has since rebuilt a solid reputation as one of dance-music's innovators, pushing his genre and leading where many others follow. Accepted back in to the higher echelons of clubland, John continues to research his own inimitable sound, searching for inspiration in the most obscure places.
Fleming has also turned his hand to journalism, writing a monthly column for M8, titled "From Brighton With Love."
John '00' Fleming live:
11/11/2006:Gatecrasher, Sheffield, UK
17/11/2006:Sound Bar, Chicago, USA
18/11/2006:Passion @ Hard rock hotel, Fort Lauderdale (USA)
25/11/2006:Earthcore festival, Undera (Australia)

Sunday - VONYC SESSIONS with Jon Rundell

Jon Rundell is a self made Producer and DJ and runs Carl Cox' famous record label Intec Records.
Intec Records was set up by Carl Cox in 1999 to capture and represent the blossoming international techno and house scenes. Cox, who has over twenty years experience at the forefront of global DJing, is one of the few big name DJs who has remained passionate about underground music. Intecs willingness to dig deep and search for new music was facilitated by Coxs global travels, spotting new talent in the increasingly fragmented techno scene at an early stage.
Intec delivered a salvo of releases from electronic musics hottest new producers: Marco Bailey, Deetron, Oxia, Trevor Rockcliffe, Valentino Kanzyani and Bryan Zentz provided the label with consecutive underground hits and ensured Intecs growing reputation. In 2002 the labels profile was raised further still with 2 monster releases. Notching up sales of 25,000, Sunshine by Belgian act Tomaz vs Filterheadz became one of the best selling underground hits of 2002 and three Ibiza summers under its belt the demand for this record is still unbelievably strong.
Now it is up to Jon to show us how one can run a label and keep himself open minded for his own dj sets. Go for it, Jon!
