I went to the cinema on Thursday but my gf told me that she stopped listening after the first 30minutes. And she's a bigger fan of Armin than me what's happening lately?

Yes it's always like this, starts slowly with proggy and vocal tracks, but 3, 2 years ago and even last year i was enjoying the show from the first minute, now i have to wait for the 2nd hour

The first hour is the marketing hour. Well at least I see it that way. He's jsut playing stuff the normally everyone would listen ot regardless of their involvement in the trance community or not. Some of the tracks played during the first hour are good though. The second hour is pretty much the education hour. People who are listening through the first hour aka n00bs, will get used t othe second hour's music.

As much as this sounds utterly psychological and marketing based, but to me, it makes a lot of sense.

I basically see the trance community as a business. Let's face it, these people need the money to continue doing what they do.

Why wouldn't Armin actually charge people to place a track in his set during the first hour? I couldn't think of a more profitable venture! and God knows how many are actually willing to pay.
Makes you think... Would those tracks closer to 2nd hour be more expensive?

I beg to differ. It is only normal not to like each and every track in each and every hour of each and every episode over a period of 9 years!!
