My grade means that this episode is MAGIC for the tech-trance fans.
I better control myself now... i'll try to give my opinion without harming the tech-trance/electro fans: this ASOT is a disaster for the uplifters.
So, dear uplifters/melody lovers/daydreamers, don't bother yourself of getting your ears on this one. IMO, the tune of the week is a bad choice and the Future Favorite (based on the listeners' vote) is also bad, but democracy has its rules. There were just a maximum of 4 tracks (i'd say even 3) that could give ear-gasms to uplifters.
Boosta - Dance Is Dead (Gareth Emery's Illcit remix) <--- I was one click away of closing Winamp. An electroish warm-up? I came home tired like hell today and i needed some really good melodic sounds (after 10 hours without music) so the warm-up i heard today isn't exactly what a listener would like to hear to get warmed up IMO. Around 75 minutes later I got what i demanded and was happy that Armin didn't ignore the melodic fans. But i got quickly disappointed with 12. DJ Eco - Light at the End (Lost World remix).
I see and respect the direction Trance is taking (with tech-trance and electro-trance later? *scared*) but i think that there should be a specific show for this named A State of Techno/Electro or whatever so that Trance music doesn't lose its unique melodic sounds. For the first time in my 22 years of life, i gave the lowest vote possible at di.fm for Armin's show. I'm fair-play.
Let ASOT play pure Trance sounds
