The review is long, but believe me it was worth the time, so please enjoy reading it. You'll see by yourself why i took my time writing it :) thanks!

Before the review, here's something i was checking every few minutes during the show: (it was around 22:00)

Image
(I've never seen this much, the YearMix had 8800 listeners. This is the reason why i had a nerve-breaking buffering :( the server was so overloaded that listening to this episode was really annoying).

Pure Magic? Pure Music? Simply Fantastic? Or maybe "THE Definition of Trance" is enough to describe this episode? Actually, i don't even think that ASOT 300 Part 1 deserves these words, cuz it's simply much more than that! You know this feeling when you're unable to find words that best describe what you feel? Even those that show how you truly feel! Well, for the last 2 hours, despite the buffering, i've been through this. In those moments the best way is to show how you feel. No need to talk, just dance, close your eyes, dream, dance, dream, dance, scream joyfully, dance, feel the true and pure passion, reach your... State Of Trance!
Until yesterday i was expecting a usual 2 hours episode of A State Of Trance. I knew it would be special, but not to this extent! Armin prepared a show that will stay in the memories of Trance Loyalists/Trance Addicts/TranceHeads, forever!

The Intro is nothing but beautiful classical music. For me, this is when i started daydreaming, when my trip began. Before the mix begins, Ferry Corsten and Above & Beyond congratulated Armin for 6 years of ASOT :) And the world's #2 DJ kicks off with a track by a great female singer, 02. Sarah McLachlan - Fear (Hybrid's Super Collider Mix) (it's on Transparance album). It's the same pattern with a relaxing beginning and beautiful vocals and later more energetic melodic tracks. But like Armin said, he's gonna take us back to the early days of Trance  i am a huge fan of classics, and he did take me back to those early days! Just like during Rhythm Nation's All Time Classics of 23rd of February 2007!
09. Andy Moor vs. Orkidea - YearZero (Accapella) found its place in the Classics Mix! It deserves to be there, in a few years we'll be remembering how Andy was banging his production in every event today!
I was enjoying the whole beginning but for an obvious reason i felt suddenly like being literally sent back in time to those days of Trance during 12. Three Drives - Sunset On Ibiza. Classic Lovers will agree with me. Sunset On Ibiza is one of the best ever produced tracks! The next one is another legendary production that needs no description/reviewing/introduction: LSG - Netherworld. I just love the sounds of this track... The next 4 tracks, by 4 great artists in the Trance scene, keep us eargasming without seeing the end of aural pleasure! Robert Gitelman, Tranquility Base (aka Above & Beyond), Jan Johnston and Sarah McLachlan (again) are big names in our lovely scene!
Now, do you want the dancefloor to shake under your feet?! Here's Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown! Great sounds combined together that result in a big floorkiller track
20. Fictivision vs. Phynn - Escape (Fictivision Mix) dates from 2004. It's on the album A State Of Trance 2004 CD1 (Phynn Mix). It might be a young track, but it's one hell of a production! It wasn't getting out of my car for many weeks when i first got ASOT 2004.
21. Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Zohnston - No One On Earth (Gabriel & Dresden Remix). Trance isn't only about happiness, there are tracks that we link to sadness for personal reasons. It's my case with this track. But despite this it's one of my favorites! The voice of Zoe Johnston perfectly describes those moments when i feel sad. Above & Beyond keep producing perfect tracks one after the other! And the trip in Trance goes on
24. Kansai - Remember This Night (Original Dub Mix). If i was asked to choose the number 1 track of this episode, it would be this one. I hope that you're familiar with it. Too bad it lasted only 1.5 minute in this episode cuz it's really really worth listening and relistening and rerelistening all of it. What am i feeling when i hear it? Eargasm, Trancegasm,... again i don't know how i should call it! Remember This Night belongs to those tracks that, honestly, take me to an emotional level beyond my borders! I have the Hemstock & Jennings Remix on an album of Godskitchen Worldwide (from 2003). It's a very very good remix, but dubs are so much better and so addictive! It's a MUST-HAVE for Daydreamers and Melodic Loyalists! Here's what you might be requesting now if you don't know it: http://www.audiojelly.com/index.cfm?act ... cfm&id=163
25. Vincent de Moor - Fly Away (Cosmic Gate Remix). VdM, here's another huge name of the Trance scene. And his productions are being recently remixed, reworked, resurected, rejuvenated, played and replayed in almost every ASOT episode! Fly Away (and Hesitations) is one lovely classic that brings memories back to those who have been listening to Trance since its earliest days (i personally don't like the track Flowtation). This is what classics do today! Remembering those old beautiful days is what makes Classic Trance even more beautiful than before... I bloody miss those years!
26. DJ Ton T.B. - Dream Machine. I remember listening to this track in my first days in Trance music but i didn't know the title. Why would i care about the name back then when i didn't have Internet and when i was doing what i love doing: dreaming. This is what the title is all about anyway right?! :) DJ Ton T.B. is another big name in our scene and is known for his collaboration with Three Drives which resulted in the MEGA MASSIVE hits Greece 2000, Air Traffic and... Sunset On Ibiza.
There are very few tracks by Marco V that i like. Marco V - Loops & Tings Relooped (Marco V's Original Mix) is one of them. But it's still not the sound that i love. However i'm sure that most of you here are Marco V fans and you love most of his productions :)
29. Push - Strange World (2000 Remake). Okay, now this was a special moment. Don't you love this feeling when you recognize a track from its first seconds? :D Back in 2001, i went to Virgin Megastore to check out the new albums and i saw this one: Ministry of Sound - Trance Nation 2001 mixed by System F. It was love at first hearing with Strange World (2000 Remake)! (the whole album is kickass anyway!) Mike Dierickx's sound is so unique and addictive that it absorbs your mind and you don't even want to get free!
30. Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiësto Remix). I'm not a fan of "Oakie" but i love this track :) female vocals always drive me crazy!
This was the first hour with Armin In The Mix, taking you back to the early days of Trance, showing you the beauty and the magic of this music, the most emotional one existing on this planet.

The 2nd hour has 4 guest mixes by 4 DJs that will be playing next week in Den Bosch (Holland) for the ASOT 300 Event.
It kicks off with Menno de Jong who played only 2 tracks, the first one being his freshest release on Intuition Recordings (he didn't say the title). As usual it's all the talent of Menno displayed in this production! Oh and by the way... "Peace Out" Menno!
Marcel Woods is a great DJ, there's no doubt about that. But as you all know here i was very disappointed by his 15minutes techy set. I felt suicidal after the magical first hour and the dreamy melodies of Menno de Jong. And obviously i wasn't the only one who fell down after flying high in the sky! 300 listeners stopped listening to the show (there was 8800+ before Woods, 8550 when he finished). I said before that there are a few tech tracks that i like, but what he played before are tracks that i put automatically in my "never listen again" list.
Sean Tyas. A rising star in the world, but unfortunately still unknown in Lebanon :( but i'm patient and i know that i'll see him someday playing live in front of at least 6000 to 8000 ravers! I'm thinking about Europe here, but i hope that it will be the case in Lebanon in a few years! His 15minutes are enough to show you that he's gonna make a huge crater out of the dancefloor! His newest production Candida is one example of how talented this guy is! And during John Askew's gig this last saturday, i could fully enjoy the power of his track Lift (reworked) :D His remixes are also kickass, just what the listeners need for aural pleasure! It's the case of 02. Vincent De Moor - Fly Away (Sean Tyas Remix) as for his own track 01. Sean Tyas pres. Logistic - One More Night Out it's exactly what Uplifing Trance Lovers needed after Marcel's techy tracks!
Aly & Fila. They established themselves in the Trance Scene as the best Arab DJs/Producers. Being part of the ASOT 300 Event line-up is a dream come true for them and they will take full advantage of it! They really should have their gig in Beirut asap! I see their absence until today as a lack of respect to those 2 amazing DJs, taking into consideration that they are Arabs. Again, their 15minutes are enough to warm you up for next week. They are the Trance leaders of the Arab world for me. 02. Mark Eteson & Jon Prior - Dynamic Stability (Aly & Fila Remix) is a track i fell in love with when listening to Rhythm Nation's 4th Anniversary A&F Guest Mix. If you don't know it, hear it, and you'll see what i mean  Their reputation will definitely increase after their set next week!

Trance is my passion, and i keep saying/showing it without even noticing sometimes. This episode is definitely one of the best i've ever heard (and i mean in general, not only ASOTs!). Classic sounds combined with modern sounds show you the very wide soundscape of Trance music, its magic past, its amazing present, its promising future, its evolution. Armin Van Buuren keeps convincing us that he's today the best DJ on the planet. And personally, i can't see how A State Of Trance can be beaten by another radio show.
Final Grade: A+++!

Little heads-up: Set's on the Jukebox.
If your trance was a pretty blonde ballerina; then what I listen to is a peed-off bulky bouncer pounding the living shit out of your ballerina.
