All the old-school trancers in the house will surely smile like they haven't smiled in years over this surprise release! DJ Sakin, one of the pioneers of Trance, returns after a long, very long absence, with a 2006 rework of the classic vocal trancer Braveheart that, you guessed it, has the theme from Braveheart has a main melody!
A long percussive intro kicks things off, until that "pow pow" acidishy sound pops out of nowhere, the same one used in the classic original, and the nostalgia starts walking down memory lane! A techy buildup progresses through, loaded with energy and groove, while veteran trancers' hearts are beating faster and faster in anticipation of the breakdown to come, just to see what Sakin is able to deliver after all these years... then the original movie theme of Braveheart climbs up your spine with that Scottish instrument (what's it called again?), followed by the trancy interpretation of the same melody in a more modern sound than the old original yet preserving that classic Trance sound - something new for the noobs, something old for the ancients, and without the original vocals.
An alternative mix is also up for grabs, one that offers the same Scottish melody but a different, more emotional, and more energetic trancy melody. For the relatively new trancers, this may be just another release to add to your collection, but whoever has been into the music ever since its earliest days will cherish this vinyl more than he would cherish his own child. DJ Sakin & Friends ~ Walk On Fire was actually the very first Trance album I ever bought, on tape! I listened to it so damn much the tape eventually became corrupt... as will this vinyl.
