Phonokol Records launches it's 4th of their Psytisfaction series and I have to say: it's quite satisfactory!
The 1st Phonokol compilation of 2006 is based on their dynamic active roster, contains 9 new and previously unreleased tracks produced by some of the most popular and high profile Israeli trance producers like: Dynamic, Gataka, Perplex, Hypersonic, DNA, E-Jekt and TechTonic, alongside with the participation of new talents such as Orbital Vibes (the new project of Ben - Dynamic and Yuval - Sigma)
The tune's are mainly rich with melodies and fall into the Morning Full-on Psy category that does the job for me. I enjoyed the compilation as a whole but have to point out for a few very good tunes such as Release Yourself, the electro vocals and mystics in Stereo Flip, and the collaboration between Perplex & Gataka: Gataplex with its wicked build-up. Fans of Prodigy - No Good will enjoy a remake of the tune by DNA & Perplex - Cyber Girl is alright, but I wouldn't really prefer it on another tune in the compilation. Although it's not my ultimate favorite sound in psy - I found the album good for a listen. I wouldn't personally play any of it's tune in a set of mine, for I think it's a bit softer and slower than my taste, but I'm sure it would get to many others instead.
