Progressive at its best!
Iboga Records kicks 2006 in with a monstrous progg-psy album that didn't fail to impress me with some of my favorite progg names such as Yotopia, Anarchy and Ace Ventura.
Yuli Fershtat has compiled this CD as a follow up on his succesfull Set:4 compilation from last year. The tracks were carefully selected through the last 8 months to ensure the same high quality as one has come to expect from an Iboga progressive specialist compilation.
The album combines great names from the progg-psy and minimal progg scene like James Monro & Dick Trevor, Morax and an interesting collaboration between Annarchy (Anna Hefetz), Dick Trevor (from Green Nuns of the Revolution), and George Barker (from Slinky Wizard). Elegant Universe is also another interesting collaboration between the two israeli artists Miki Litvak and Amir Hardon, Miki is the very well-known top psytrance producer: Domestic.
The album is also a combination of housey flavoured tunes such as Push Through and Wash Out. My favorite of the album had to be Buggyone: a pumping magical tune.
Progg fans should look out for this album - it might not be very appealing, but it's quite colourful and varies between house, trance, psy influences and even tribal at some points. Good treat for me!
