Neelix is the newest entry to me list. The man is swedish Henrik Twardzik who started producing in 1998. After the amazing success of his 1st debut 'Resident', Neelix is back with his album 'No way to leave'.
A unique defined style, different from all other progressive, but definitively still progressive-psytrance is what will set the pattern for the whole style. I found it minimal, bangy, yet featured some melodic samples that just hooked me to this style.
Perfectly initiated vocals that sometimes gets annoying as in The Next, extraordinary pumping and grooving basslines, rare but fascinating melodies and high-end soundeffects that eliminated any hesitattion make some of those tunes drive their way into your favorites list.
I liked Side B, Think on Me, The Second but LOVED No Way to Leave, wicked basslines and splendid effects... exactly what I look for in any tune! I didn't like Complication though, found it a bit industrial. The Next has very annoying vocals and Of Nine seemed very sleezy which isn't my favorite type to listen to. Rein ne va plus is just fine, I couldn't find any striking element in the tune really.
A good album overall.
