Yahel Sherman is back with a new release at Phonokol Records featuring
12 previously unreleased tunes and remixes. 'Super Set' is set to
announce the opening of FTP Records - the new label of Yahel in
collaboration with Phonokol Records. Yahel's style doesn't appeal to me for
even a bit, but I have to admit that the sound of this album is much more
tolerable than 'Around the World'. The only disturbing part about the
release (at least for Dion) is that the tunes are mixed into each other. One
more thing that stroke my attention is his remake for ''Om Kolthoum'' -
Inta Omri that reminded me a lot of lebanese ''DJs'' that did so for
some of her songs when I was around 3 years ago.
I honestly hated the album but ''listenable to'' to a certain limit since I'm
no fan of Yahel's sound at all and just as Tiesto is in Trance, I consider him
the fame's whore of Psytrance.
For all it's worth mentioning, Psycraft's Remix of Electro Panic and
Dan Label's Remix of Liquid Loveand Nushka are the only ones worth
a listen. Another thing that Mr. Sherman have done is the mass destruction
that he applied to Infected Mushroom's classic, Deeply Distorted,
remixing it to a miserable love song that I found not bad for a change but
not in a Yahel album were such an act is definitly predictable.
