Xerox & Illumination - XI

Xerox (Moshe Keinan) and Illumination (Amir Dvir) first joined forces in
2002 and released their first collaboration album, 'Temporary Insanity', in
2004 to be followed by various releases on leading compilations of labels
such as T.I.P world, Hit Mania, Crystal Matrix, Sirius, Noga and more.
The duo is well known on the psychedelic trance scene for their full on
psy sound reaching a margin of 148 bpm with the psychic twists and
dreamy mystic FX. I have attended the release party for this album last
month and it was absolutely amazing. I so much wanted to grab the album
and it didn't take me too long to do so. The album is released on HOMmega
Productions.
I liked Nightshift, Paranoia, Soul Control, Assimilation of Reality, and
Etnica's Remix of 7 days: absolute madness, perfect blend of
whatever psychedelic elements you might fancy to listen to and layered
upon each other with a massive bassline and short edgy melodies and
guitars.
Ghost in the Machine, Battleship, and Bottom Line were just
good, with no special striking element. Funkenstein (as the name
suggests) is rather of a ''funky style'': ecletic, slow, with a trippy breakdown.
I was mostly disappointed with the remix of Astrix's unreleased tune,
Oranda (whose original mix wasn't a blast either). 5 striking tunes
out of 10 might not sound very appealing or like a good bargain, but I'd
really recommend those 5 tunes for all psy heads around.
Tracklist:
----------
1. Nightshift
2. Ghost in the machine
3. Battleship
4. Paranoia
5. Soul control
6. Funkenstein
7. Assimilation of reality
8. Oranda (Final Mix)
9. Bottom line
10. 7 days (Etnica Remix)
