My favorite Hard Trance producer strikes back with two beasts. Ace Da Brain a.k.a. Ace's Delight has got to me one of the most under-rated producers today; no one blends the hardest of beats with epic classical melodies like this mind does! Depths Of Doom is truly a track emerging straight out of hell, with a scary touch beat and a scarier melody, not to forget the terrifying choir and the haunting piano (that Ace can't produce without)... then the 4:20 mark falls upon you and suddenly you forget your previous fear because an even bigger replaces them with an undescribable monster of a lead followed by the acidest of acid literally annihilating your brain cells! A fucking masterpiece! Magic Waters is a much brigher track, featuring one of Ace's intros that are another reason why I run like Forrest Gump whenever I see a new release from this guy to grab it quick. The buildup is just beautiful, transcending with every measure to lead to an even more beautiful breakdown with, as expected, another piano melody followed by a sweet guitar. Your eyes are closed by now, and the melodies keep increasing and keep getting better, until a smile is drawn on your face, then as the drum rolls you feel the climax approaching, and so a rush of blood coarses from your heart through your arteries all the way down to your guts where it just explodes simultaneously with the comeback of the beat... et voila: you're in a Trance. And just when you thought that it couldn't possibly get any better than this, that you couldn't possibly feel any more alive, a second mini-breakdown surprises you to take you to an even higher state of consciousness as you submerge in a vitalizing crescendo of sonic artistry courtesy of the one and only Andreas Schmidt. One of the biggest releases of the year believe me, and one that I hope will get the success it merits, unlike his previous works that went by relatively unnoticed. Two giant productions from this German genius, each at one side of the spectrum, with the first being a devilish hard trancer and the second being an angelic uplifter.
