The Fire & Ice project constists of two guys: Jurgen Leyers & Laurent Veronnez. They met on the Love Parade '97 and after a long talk they decided to do a project together with as main target: producing "emotional Trance". Their first single "Lost Emotions" hit Europe by storm and is still one of their biggest hits so far. They've just finished their work on a new single called "Let There Be Light" with a Primer Remix on the flipside!

It's also their last single together as Fire & Ice because they both think the genre has become outdated.
I've met Jurgen quite some times and he's a friendly chap!
They'll both continue to work on Jurgen's DJ Fire project though...

Personally I don't believe their sound is outdated at all. Alongside Lange, they are one of the few producers who are still loyal to the good old Trance sound, always delivering something different than the present scene and yet intoxicating for the ears. It's a shame this is their last release, I have been a big fan of Fire & Ice ever since Lost Emotions and I, and many other trancers I am sure, don't want to see this essential chapter in Trance history fade away.

or maybe, u guys r playing ping pong and i'm watchin, then one of u says:
'cumon Gen, have a shot, it's easy to learn'
and i move my shoulders: 'naaa... beste7e...i have a pingpong-phobia'
(that's me watching u guys talking about UR trance)

so i end up picking balls off the pitch and drawing smily faces on them.

My friend Genesis. Don't want to start all the cheese or not conversations ;-)

But I do believe you have a point if you're trying to say that lots of people tend to fix themselves on (over)emotional trance. Tastes differ... I simply like quality and originality. And if a track gives me a positive vibe, I like it. Even simplistic or cheesy tracks can give that to me sometimes but this Fire & Ice track is rather average if you ask me.
I prefer the DJ Fire project. Always mint!
